MEMES- A VANISHING BREED

I have noticed this week that lots of the Memes we participate in are going missing. There are very good reasons for this. People are on holiday, starting new business ventures, dealing with family issues. I have a suggestion though. Why don't we have our memes hosted by a blogger friend while we are unavailable? Just a simple post to say where it is being held for that week, month or however long would suffice.
The main reason I am suggesting this is that I was very organized this past week and I readied several meme posts for publishing only to find out no one was available to host their meme. No Mosaic Monday, no ~~Sunday Favorites~~, etc. I have offered to list for anyone here but no one knows that when they look for the original meme.
I don't want to step on any toes here and I am not after your memes. I just thought it would be a good idea. Any suggestions?

NOTE: SUNDAY FAVORITES IS NOW UP AND RUNNING WHOO HOOO.

I think that is a great idea, you could be like a blog sitter. Except you could look after Memes.

I don't think that you are going to want to see me at Eriksons Daylily farm, a whopper of a summer flu has tackled me at the knees. Knocked me over, trampled me, then it fled....nasty little virus.

Blogger is still not autopublishing, so I dragged myself out of bed to hit the button this morning.

Wanted to let you know that your blog roll is not quite right, it was that way last night, and now it is still the same, first it was static, and a couple of layers were on top of each other, now it only shows the "A's and the B's.

I am sure that it is not just my eyes from all the cold meds, nope, it really is not working right.

Have a great time, take lots of photos, perfect day to shoot.

I'm thinking of the "spa" that cares for our dog when we're away. Blog boarder. A kennel for blogs.

Question: Does my blog get a bath before it comes home? Cuz I don't want it smelling all doggy.

Great suggestion. Hosting is not time consuming, and it would really be nice to still see all our favorite meme's and all those who participate. Great suggestion. Hugs, Marty

When I first got on blogger and read blogs it was an English lady. I thought meme was slang for that time of the month....still can't get that out of my head.

I think that is a fabulous idea ! I have wondered that myself....everyone needs a break from time to time ! I think it is kinda of a downer when I get everything purchased or made for a MeMe and then it doesn't exsist. I sometimes wish there was one main old fashioned bulletin board to find MeMe's and give us the scoop !

Oh my...oh my, I have been busy! I do apologize at being late to get my Sunday Favorites post up! I originally thought that I would be back in time to prepare this Sunday Favorites and alas, was having such a great time with my family decided to stay a bit longer! I had to do a "quickie" post...just didn't want to disappoint the Sunday Favorites participants! I do know how that is to take the time and effort for a meme...only to have it post for some reason or another! I think that having a guest host is a great idea...I considered it and then decided to just do my Sunday posts up ahead of time! Anyway...hehe!...thank you so much for participating and the great idea!!!

Girl, I remember when you did this post on "vomitories"...eeeks! I had never heard of them before...so gross, don't you think? Hehe!!! I am definitely a bit wiser now...if or when I hear of vomitories I will know exactly what they're talking about...due to you! Hehe!!!

I suppose it depends how dedicated you are to participating. Having suggested it Lori, I suspect you'll get volunteered to do the babysitting. LOL! Me, I'm of the "Blogging Without Obligation" school of thinking. And its not practical for me to even attempt to adhere to a schedule like that.

Jen: Well too bad for you but I bought all the daylilies they had, up every one of them, thousands. Well actually 3 and the fourth one was free. Plus a blue phlox.

Savant:No bath but I guarantee it won't come back pregnant either.

Eloh: Actually it is referring more to that time of the week. How crappy would that be for us.

Kammy: A bulletin board is a great idea. Hmmm I'll see what I can come up with.

Chari: I am glad you made it back. Yours was the third one I had come across that had been missing or canceled.

Ali & Keetha: Sure I will do it. Me and my big mouth will do it together. Put the word out...I'll be the foster blog mom. Now I just have to figure out what day of the week this is and we'll be all set.
