6 things you’ve made during your lifetime that you were proud of (can be a craft, a dish, . . . anything)

Here is my list

1. Of course my two sons but I had help with that. I did do most of the work on this project with their father stepping back from the project on about oh let's say the first night. He did step up to the plate on the final day of work and basked in the glory with me. Typical man.
2. I tole paint and have made many beautiful pieces. They were sold in a store and I always took particular pleasure when I found out they were being taken back to a different country as a gift for someone there.
3. I find entertaining and cooking to be pretty easy and have had a lot of delicious dinners. I think what I have made that was so special was simply the atmosphere that allowed a group of guests to have a really nice meal and enjoyable evening. That doesn't come from the fancy food or me running around crazy to get the place set up. It comes from truly enjoying your guests and making them feel comfortable.
   
4. I have made my blogs. There have people who have helped along the way with information and tips but I am really proud of how they have turned out and where they are heading. Of course I have to thank you guys for that too.
   
5. I have researched my family tree back to the late 1590's in France and I am so proud of finding all my ancestors along the way from the first family to reside in New France (Quebec) in about 1616 to the Aboriginal and Metis families who fought to try to save their land. I have done many trees for other people and am always so proud of the finished history that they recieve.
6. Friends. I am so very proud of the fact they consider me their friend. That is a huge honour and I don't take it lightly. Some of them I have never even met but they are my friends just the same.

SMALL TALK SIX: Things You Love or Hate About The Ocean

Todays theme: Things you love or hate about the ocean.

What is not to love about the ocean? Except maybe tsunamis.

1. Okay lets start with tsunamis. What's up with those? First the water recedes and then it comes back at you with a vengeance. No one ever heard of them before a few years ago now it is common knowledge what to do when the ocean disappears. Living on the West coast of B.C. we could be hit by one at some point.
   
2. What touched my leg, what touched my leg. Eeeeeek. I'm outta here.
3. What is that ugly thing that washed up on shore? Long, green, slimy with a big bulb head.
4. Change of pace here...I could watch the mesmerizing movement of the ocean for hours.
5. The sound of the waves is like a massage for your brain.
6. The ocean is where salmon and halibut come from...I am so in for that.
7. sorry but I have to add a seventh one here. Men in Speedo bathing suits. You guess if this is a love it or a hate it item.

SMALL TALK SIX: My List of Six

Small Talk over at Mom Blogs at MomDot.com has a weekly list meme and this weeks topic is 6 things that are obvious but some people still need to hear them. Check out the other lists posted this week. Here are mine.

• Don't drink and drive. Obvious.
• Don't take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night. Haven't done it but it must be a bad idea.
  
• Don't wear short skirts or booty shorts. You are a legend in your own mind.
  
• Don't ever date one of your kids friends no matter how mature he/she is. This will not end well and you know it.
  
• Don't ever ask a woman when her baby is due unless you are so sure she is pregnant that you can see the baby coming out.
  
• Don't put anything on the internet that you don't want everyone in the whole wide world to be able to see. Once it is out there it is there forever.
