THERE ARE FAIRIES AMONG US

Well now there are some things in life that we believe in and some that we don’t.

Leprechauns? Nope. Not likely.

Unicorns? Only in little girls minds.

Elves & Gnomes? Ya, right! Maybe in your garden or on a travel site.

Trolls? The stuff of kids tales.

But what about Fairies? Are they real? Have you seen one? Met one? I am pretty sure I have.

I have been contacted by the Fairy Hobmother and a wish has been granted just by telling you about them.

I left a comment on Happier Than a Pig in Mud’s blog when she had been visited by the Fairy Hobmother and Kapow!!!! I was granted a wish. So just by posting about the Fairy Hobmother I was gifted an Amazon gift card.

We often post about our cooking endeavours and our appliances are a big part of that. The Fairy Hobmother is a blog showcasing appliances. It is full of information.

But wait….don’t go yet….if you leave a comment on here you may be next to be visited by the Fairy Hobmother. It is real, I know because it happened to me!!!

I HAVE BEEN ANCESTOR APPROVED

I am very pleased to get this award from Donna Jane at Hanging From the Family Tree. 
I have this award on my genealogy blog so I cheated and copied my post from there (HAVE YOU EVER SEEN MY OTHER BLOG? NO? CLICK HERE)
Now I need to tell you about things about my ancestors that have surprised, humbled or enlightened me. Oh my what to choose? Here we go.

1. I was surprised to find out that my 11th Great Grandparents were the first official family to settle in New France. (Quebec) Louis Hebert and Marie Rollet both have statues erected in their honour in Quebec. 
2. I was really surprised when one of my sisters was sent a photo randomly from her sister in law of a trip she was on back in the 60's. There is my sister on her way to Nova Scotia and she is sitting on the edge of Louis Hebert's statue. This was 40 years before I did our family history and we had no idea we were related to him. 
3. I am humbled by the sacrifice of all my ancestors but most of all by my Metis ancestors who fought so bravely to try and save their land and their homes during the Louis Riel Rebellion.
4. I was humbled by my Grandmother who had given birth a minimum of 12 times. How did you survive something like that? How do you care for  them all? Feed them? Oh and the many that didn't survive. How do you bury so many like some of my ancestors had to do. 
5. I have been enlightened by all my ancestors. I had no interest in history before I started researching but now find many things to interest me about the past. A storm or drought from the past now has real meaning to me. 

I will have to end at 5 due to time constraints or I will never get this posted.

HELLO, IS ANYBODY OUT THERE?

Hello out there. Yes I am talking to you. Yes you. The one standing there trying not to be noticed. I see you (not really cause that would be creepy).
We all know we have wonderful people who follow our blogs on a regular basis but they stay in the wings. They don't comment.
I would like to invite you to speak up and leave a comment on any of my posts. I would like to get to know you. I am pretty sure if you are on here regularly you must have a great sense of humor or you wouldn't come back. You must also be pretty darned smart. I only have the best people on here so we know that is true.
