METAMORPHOSIS MONDAY: NOW I'M COOKIN' WITH GAS

Join in with Susan @ Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis Monday and all the other participants. You will amazed at all the changes that take place.

My old stove had some troubles but I have had it for a long time. The convection fan didn't work. The little mesh thingy-ma-bob that fits in the tube that vents the oven was gone and the heat just poured out there. The plastic guide for the oven door had fallen out on one side and it squeals metal on metal when you open the oven door. Not good for my son's midnight pizzas.

There were also the cosmetic issues with the top that had burned and crackled from the big canning pot on top. See Blubarb Jam or Salsa. Definitely time for a change.

The glass door was clouded over too. You couldn't see anything inside even with the light on.

I always wanted a gas range and I finally got it. Top and bottom both gas, convection, warming drawer, blah, blah, blah....

I also have moved a few things around in the house and had a great spot for a console table. Off to Home Depot where I had spotted a nice one.

It took 3 hours to put together. My youngest son helped with some of it.

Don't open the doors because they are not attached yet.

I really like it there and yes I see the white lamp cord hanging on the floor. Aaargghhh.

Now go and visit all the others. Wait, leave a comment here first now go, scoot.

  12. It took me just a little while to adjust, but now I love cooking with gas. I would love to have a warming drawer! I NEVER would have noticed the white cord. BTW--Beloved is used to things after all these years. He says everytime he leaves town, I paint something or buy a dog. He prefers the paint :)

Oh have happy happy meals with your new-bee Oven my friend.
Now your cooking with gas? Did anybody say that yet?
BTW how many bodies did you have to bury when they came through that door, and saw all that raspberry pink? LOL I haven't carried any"body" out yet!!
Don't you just hate putting those darn things together? That's why I do not like ( I was going to say hate, but that's a bad word) IKEA stuff and now Home Depot I guess... go figure.

  26. There is nothing like the thrill of a new range.I managed on a cooker similar to your old one, then i invested in a large range,i was so happy with it i cooked non stop for a week. The family told me to stop as i was going mad, they were getting fed up ( excuse the pun )of stews, pies, roasts and cakes, plus the freezer was packed full.I have had this range for two years now and it was a good investment.Happy cooking.

  29. Love your new stove, I prefer gas myself... that is about the only thing I wish I had in my kitchen right now. We looked into changing over to gas, but it was too expensive.

    Your table is pretty.

  34. Love your stove. I will have to be picking out new appliances with my kitchen re-do starting in Jan. I would love to have gas but since these's no gas lines on our road so I have to settle for electric. I'm doing stainless too. Do you find it fingermarks easily. Someone told me that, especially about a big fridge.

  35. Talk about coming late to the party. LOVE the stove - LOVE IT!!!! Hey I can fix that white cord thingy -- don't need my son for that. The console is lovely. We have a TV console in the back of our truck from Home Depot just waiting for the basement to be finished. I hope it looks half as nice as your console.

  41. I would probably sleep next to the new stove for a few weeks:) I absolutely love to get a new toy in my kitchen too. I prefer to cook with gas. Enjoy your new toy and the table is great but I am bad with reading directions that have screws so I could never come and help with the doors:) I always find I am missing one screw or else I end up with one too many and wonder where in the world it was suppose to go.

  46. Good grief Lucy, look at all these comments. I am jealous of your new stove. It's gas. I had to get the smooth top electric because there is no gas here, and what a job it is to keep it shining. I love your new table. Pretty spiffy. Now you are going to tell me that you will be getting Christmas presents too. Spoiled I tell you.

    XO Lucy
