Joanne doesn't live far from me at all but I didn't know her before blogging. We have met before and laughed ourselves silly over coffee at my local coffee shop, Zenberry. The motto here is "Treat yourself better" and I think I do every time I go there for my daily coffee.
I have mentioned before that the owner of the coffee shop actually knows Joanne's son quite well. Small world isn't it.
So here is my question for you. Have you ever met up with a fellow blogger in person? Were they just like their blog persona or were you surprised. Were they awful...just kidding...they probably still
I guess we always hope that the other person is going to "mesh" with us for fear that the conversation will lull! I have had good luck with my meet-ups! Now being the wild/crazy person that I am, I hope I didn't offend any of them with my candor and that they still feel that I warrant a second visit... LOL
ReplyDeleteI think the two of us could get in a lot of trouble if we were together, Lucy!
hugs, Ethel
Sue/Ethel I think you and I could get into trouble if we were not even in the same city so if we were in the same room it could be "I need bail" time.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we will find out one day.
I have had one 'meet up' and had a ball. I feel a special connection with her now than I did before meeting her in person. Lifelong pals, I would say!

How FUN to meet a fellow blogger for coffee! I have met a couple fellow bloggers... it is FUN!
ReplyDeleteThree of my followers are my family,so I see them all the time,my other loyal followers are in America Australia,Canada and Israel,so not much chance of meeting for coffee. The thought of meeting you all would be lovely, one day ,who knows when our respective paths might cross.
ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time, I met a blogger, she came all the way over the bridge from Maple Ridge just to meet up with me one day.
ReplyDeleteShe is an amazing person, and every time I read her blog I learn something else about her.
She has been inordinately helpful to me with all of my computer queries, and concerns.
I cherish her comments, she is funny and irreverent, and has quite a strong opinion about, well almost everything. But I really like that about her.
I hope to see her in person once again, but until then, we stay in touch through our blogs. She is always making me laugh, and that is priceless.

Not me Lori - most of my bloggy pals are in the northern hemisphere.
ReplyDeleteBut I do Skype with one person in Illinois that I met through blogging so that almost counts as meeting right?
ReplyDeleteI have come close to meeting Maven...but she was so sick the day we had arranged to meet that we called it off...I dont get to the island very often so not sure when I will get another chance, but I do make to the lower mainland more...
ReplyDeleteI also have met people from a chat room I used to hang out in years ago...we had a channel party and I actually went across the country and into Michigan for it...it was a real blast!!
Never had the pleasure, I think I scare people!
ReplyDeleteI've met a few local Atlanta bloggers, never on purpose. We happened to be at the same events and they introduced themselves: Ciambellina, Brilliant Asylum, High Gloss Blue, The Blue Remembered Hills, Things that Inspire and I almost met Charm Home. We weren't meeting up and I don't have the female relationship intuition thing but they were really nice to me and I felt honored that they stepped up. I recognized Yummy Scrumptious at another event and I introduced myself. I haven't met Atlanta bloggers Peak of Chic or Style Court, but maybe I will one day.
ReplyDeleteLori - finally had a chance to check my blogs today and lookie lookie its ME!!! What a nice time - feels like I've known you forever. D was pleased when I told him later that the owner of Zenberry said hi. This world is amazingly small and wonderful. Til next time - which could be sooner rather than later. See ya here!!!
ReplyDeleteLet me tell ya folks that Lori is just the same in person as here - ton of fun and I got to enjoy several of her coffee buddies today and witnessed first hand the fun they have - although I did monopolize her today.
Love that motto! Giggles over coffee sounds like a hoot. I wish I was there. MB
