First we have Mosaic Monday. This is hosted by Mary @ Little Red House and then Metamorphosis Monday hosted by Susan @ Between Naps on the Porch. Oh I forgot about Deck the Halls with Susan @ Thoughts From Over the Rainbow.

I forgot to take a photo of the mantle before it was decorated so I am using this one from our friends surprise party last month. Off came the Fall wreath and up went the fabric and ribbon. On top of that are the evergreen branches. A mix of ornaments, candles and topped with a pre-lit wreath and there is the metamorphosis.
Then on to the tree. It is about 7 feet tall and artificial because I leave it up for over a month.
I use white lights and a mix of ornaments all in shades of burgundy, copper, gold and cream. I use a minimal amount of thick gold tinsel. Just enough to make the tree shimmer. My lights have many settings but I keep them on fade where they fade in and out randomly again giving the tree some life. Looks great in person but is a pain to photograph. Glad you stopped by. Make sure to visit the host blogs and all of the other participants. Oh ya, join in. Don't know how? Ask any of us because we are all happy to help.
Beautiful Christmas decorations and ornaments. I love how you decorated your mantle it looks lovely.

Beautiful tree and mantel. I love how you the placed the tree close to the mantel. Food for thought, for next year. Great colors, makes the room look warm and cozy.

Your mosaics are so very Christmassy and wonderful. I love your mantle. My fireplace is much like yours (big rocks) but I have no mantle. I'm thinking I may try to string garland across with lights on a wreath above and on the garland. Maybe it will "fool the eye"! I love how you grouped the glass ornaments on the mantle. Really petty.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mantle...♥♥♥ your candle holders.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful...
ReplyDeleteLovely mosaic and FESTIVE decorations in your photos today!

ReplyDeleteHi Lori
ReplyDeleteYes I was in Vancouver. I had 4 days...didn't even get to see my FIL...bad bad girl I am. We were stranded in Calgary for 4 hours, Friday. The storm was unbelievable! I got home at 5:30 AM and had to attend the birthday parties the next day after the book signing. So now I am concentrating on Colt's birthday and Xmas. Haven't even decorated yet.
Your deco looks fabulous Lori.
Yes next time when I have a little more breathing time we will meet, I promise.
As for the cookies...not...as for the Irving case... I'm sickened to say the least. My poor sister had her license removed because she suffered a very little TIA (stroke). She might not be able to drive for a year!!!!!! Something is very very wrong.
Love the Crossbill bird feeding.
Happy Blue Monday Lori
Love Claudie

ReplyDeleteHi Lori,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog.
I love your mantle. It turned out just gorgeous! We don't have a fireplace and I have some serious envy going on right now!
Beautiful photos, mantel and tree! Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a little note...
ReplyDeleteYour mantel & tree are gorgeous. Love those candleholders. They're really pretty and festive.
ReplyDeleteLori, your mantel looks BEAUTIFUL! Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful decorations at MM. :)
ReplyDeleteLori, Your tree and mantel look devine and I love your color scheme. I've never used burgundy for holiday decorating except in our garland ribbon on the stairs. I've since changed it to brown/gold. You should not have closet envy, my friend! I don't have a basement, so the house has extra large closets everywhere. I use the study closet to hold 2 trees and assorted other stuff. I miss a darn basement in this house, but sacrificed it because I liked most everything else. Next move will definitely include a subterrainian room! LOL
ReplyDeleteHope all is well w/you at this crazy hectic time.
hugs, Ethel
Beautiful captures! Great mosaics.
ReplyDeleteThat mantel is gorgeous. I love how it is all plush and elegant. I think it is the fabric that adds the extra wow factor.
ReplyDeleteI really like the addition of the lite up wreath. I love that the mantel has lights from top to bottom.
