Hi, well, I'm an old woman, older than you for sure, that just found out what a blog is, sooo what do I do now??? Stalk th blogs in the comments on Pioneer Woman (my first blog experience, heck I thought it was a recipe site until my grown Son informd me) anyhow, I decided I wanted a blog myself, but anyone who's my age or close to it,is artistic or talented in some wonderful way & ME I'm just Meema. THEN I found you! You just blow it all out of the water! I'm SO hooked. You cook, you paint & you are fantastic at your hobby....I don't know whether to hate you or love you! LOL I choose, love,I love your whole blog! Oh yes, I'm dying to win the fantastic painted plaque you did....I'm probably too late for that too. But, I will be back,I have to continue to read all about all you do! Thanks for the uplifting blog today!
ReplyDeleteTink412 I tried to have a look at your blog but there are no posts yet. Get busy girl and write something about your day.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't connect with your email address either. Thanks for the kind words.
Hi Lori!
ReplyDeleteFinally got a chance to look at your blog - great fun! Love the Easter candy poll :) I vote for the mini eggs, too!
Thanks for being a good customer of our Store; it was good to see you the other day after the "archives"!
Keep having fun!
Anna from The Essential Packaging Store

Lori I love the updated blog page!! It really looks great :) Oh and Adam and I finally got a chance to stop in at Zen Berry... I only wish it was closer to me - that was by far the best latte I've ever had.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you like the updated look. I am also glad you enjoyed the latte. I will pass that on to the owner.
ReplyDeleteNow have you entered to win the next contest? Of course people may hunt you down if you win a second one. lol.
Thanks Leah
Just dropping by from PW saw you were in Canada and was curious. My Mom loves and pursues geneology as well and in her 80's has started blogging about family stories and pictures! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteLori, thank you for stopping by & for following my blog. I'm so glad you enjoyed the spring fluffing party & I hope you'll come back often.
ReplyDeleteLori, We are in Ontario and it has been a great experience less the snow part. I am so glad we moved here but miss good ol' Texas. Thanks for the geneology offers, I'll mention to my Mom! Jenni
ReplyDeleteHi Lorie,
ReplyDeleteJust paying you a visit back! I love the eggs in the last post - they are so beautiful. I've almost forgotten that Easter is around the corner. Now I need to start thinking about it!
Phoo-D
Hi Lori! Thanks gor stopping by my blog! I just love all your outdoor decor! Can't wait to see it in full bloom this summer! I'm in love with your birdhouses below, too. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteIf summer ever gets here I will make sure there are pictures. I remember trying to get that big bird house home in my old mini van. The rusted metal roofs cut into the seat. That didn't go over well. Then I cut myself a couple times. I don't think I will move it any time soon.
ReplyDeleteHi Lori!
ReplyDeleteNooooo... don't tell me I'm really haunted. remember .. I don't believe in ghosts!
Oh well.. if they are here, at least they don't eat much. :-) Not unlike my kids and their friends. I have two girls in their 20s. I see you have two boys. My mom, who had two of each variety of kid, said that boys were easier on their Moms.
LOVE your blog name. I always ask my girls if a new boyfriend has insanity in his family -- cause if he doesn't, he sure won't fit in with us!
Best... Cass
Nifty blog! I've been having fun reading your previous posts! I'm telling you now - I'm stealing your prime rib recipe & calling it my own. ;) Think I might give that one a go for Easter.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the prime rib. I can smell it cooking already.
ReplyDeleteSerendipity: the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way. It has been a fortunate stroke of serendipity to find you and this lovely blog! You love Italy, and I'm crazy about trees. Every kind, perhaps even family trees... Off to the recipe "branch" (tee hee) now.
ReplyDeleteCiao
Mille grazie for your kind comments Lola. Glad you could stop by. Family trees are my favorite but a nice Himalayan Pine or an Arbutus are stunning too.
ReplyDeleteHey, Lori, now I recognize you, since I see the little icon with your name. I just wish I had the time to get to know all of you better, but there's so many of you readers out there, I just can't keep up with all of you! :) But, I'm happy that you stop by to see me, so thanks for that. Glad you are getting some visits too. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blog. Love the pictures of the sushi. I love sushi but don't eat enough of it. Amazing your dog likes it though! My dog will eat strawberry yoghurt - strange.
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping by my blog. I'll be back to see yours as it is interesting and quite captivating.
Thanks MOB. We give our dog plain yoghurt when her stomach is gurgling. She will eat anything but raw mushrooms. She quite plainly is a pig.
ReplyDeleteWell I just dropped by to say hello and to thank you for visiting with us at TwirlandTaste. Like you I love labs, and thanks to my mother and aunts know a little bit about geneology - DAR among others. I tell my mother she has as many papers as my dog - I love them both!
ReplyDeleteHappy Twirls and Happy Easter!
Just found your blog from Blissfully Domestic. I love Geneology and want to do so much more of mine. So fascinating and love finiding out the history. Love to be a new follower to your blog! Looking forward to more of your posts!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
~Victoria~
Hi Lori,
ReplyDeleteBlue is not my first choice either (Amsterdam Blue) but I keep it contained in my office. Great site you have. I have been deep into my family genealogy for a few years now, amazing what juicy tid bits you uncover. ~Cathy~
Okay, I think you can capture the blog button now...you should be able to right-click on it and save it to your computer so that you can implement it into your blog's layout page.
ReplyDeleteThanks in advance! :-)
Layla
Lori, your blog is so pretty. You were menioning where I put my stuff in the off season. I really don't change things out all the time. I do my foyer table for the seasons & sometimes my sideboard in the DR, but the rest of my kitchen stuff you see stays out all the time. I don't have that much storage space!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting The Quiet Life.

Terrible timewaster but fun!
Hi Lori! Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving sweet comments. I'll add you to my bloglist and visit back now that I've met you! Becky
ReplyDeleteThe amount of people doing genealogy research now is staggering. I do always say that genealogists are the most generous people openly sharing their time, tips, research and family trees with so many.
ReplyDeleteAlso thanks to all of you for your comments. They truly are appreciated.
A garden without daisies is like wine without grapes and oil without olives!
ReplyDeleteI've tagged you for a meme over at my blog. Play along if you feel inclined... Ciao
Hi Lori,
ReplyDeleteThanks for clueing me in on that flower problem I have!
Janie
Hi Lori,
ReplyDeleteCall me blonde, but I don't know if I am supposed to comment here after a post or in the comment section after each post!! Anyway, wanted to say thanks for visiting and thanks for giving me a chance to find another great blog to follow. I have read all the way down to the suitcase mishap and I am still giggling! I think we very much have the same sense of humor!!
By the way, my brother in law married a girl from Vancouver (now my SIL) and so we were there for the first time last May for the wedding. It was just so beautiful (Vancouver...and the wedding). We rented a home in Kit--- can't remember but it was fabulous.
Anyway, come visit me sometime!
xoxo
Jane
You have a great blog and was so glad I found it! I love the title! Thanks for stopping by.

ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Miss Bloomers, so nice of you to comment about your experience with stargazers. I love the name of your blog and so glad you stopped by so I could get connected to yours! Thanks, Sonia/Miss Bloomer
ReplyDeleteYour blog is so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you all so much for the kind words. I do get a lot of compliments on the name of my blog but it really is true. Every family has them and if those people around you are just fine then maybe you are the NUT in the family tree. I'm just saying.
ReplyDeleteLori !!!!!! I love you ! Thanks so much for the tip on my blog to switch my paints around....now
ReplyDeletewhy didn't I think of that, LOL ! I read your post when I was at work today and as soon as I got home I made the switch...I will have to post the picture under the original post - because it
looks to Fab ! Thanks again !
Hugs ~ Kammy
Check out my latest post Lori :-)

Martha
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving your wonderful suggestions on our new post idea. I love your blog - it is so interesting!
ReplyDeleteLori, thanks for stopping by my new kitchen & no, I didn't paint the tole trays in there. I have 3 of them that I've collected, mostly from yardsales. Wish I was that talented!
ReplyDeleteI commented on a previous post that included a link. But it also had the words JUNK MAIL in it, the bane of my existence.
ReplyDeleteCiao
Lori, I love the name of your blog! I have napkins that say, "My family tree is full of nuts," and guess what? It's true!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila :-)
Hi Lori
ReplyDeleteYou stopped by my blog a few weeks ago and it's taken me this long to come and visit you. I'm enjoying what I read and I'll come back and visit!
Tracey
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog. I really like yours. I plan on stopping back by.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Thanks for stopping by to visit me on Sundays.
ReplyDelete:)
Thanks for stopping by to see me -- I just dropped over to say "Hi!" to you -- love your blog!
ReplyDeleteLori E, I couldn't get to your comments for two whole days! I'm glad I did today. Whew!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for liking my blog and yes, you have the permission to grab the Hostess graphic. I think it'll look great in your blog! Enjoy!
I happened to find your blog tonight and I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed reading it.
ReplyDeleteLori - so nice to meet you. And thanks for dropping by my little blog. I LOVED finding yours and can hardly wait to spend some time going through the past and definitely keeping up with the future.
ReplyDeleteOne of my new brother-in-laws is huge into his family geneology and I would love to start thinking about my family (just seems daunting) but retirement is looming and I am also on the west coast so who knows if our paths will (or have) crossed.
Hi Lori,
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog! When I get home & have more surfing time, I'll have fun browsing here!
GM Lori...girl if you came here I would not put you on the shelf with th Blak Jack gum we would chew and talk each others ears off instead ha ha!! Thanks for coming by and seeing my old junk my friend..May you have a great day...hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fantastic blog so I'm going to follow you. It's like finding yourself in a treasure trove with so much to see and read. You are a talent! Thanks for popping by my blog. You are always so kind to comment.
ReplyDeleteHey Lori !
ReplyDeleteYes, we have 52 weeks a year in the U.S. too..so funny I put 26....that's because I work as a payroll clerk and everyone is paid bi-weekly so - 26 times a year..how funny that I was comparing that to dish collecting...yes, you are right I can collect a whole bunch more !
Yeah !
Hugs ~ Kammy
Hi Lori! Thanks so much for dropping by! And about the cats...yes, I like them! Can you tell??? lol...Debbie
ReplyDeleteA garden isn't much without some good old-fashioned daisies in it. I always have Shastas in mine. But the heat is sending them packing for the season. I see you're proficient in genealogy. I would love to learn more about that, as there are so many blanks in my life. Don't know if my mother is alive. Never met my father nor any member of his family. Kind of a crazy story I was born into. Siblings that probably don't know I exist. Etc.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I love your blog and your precious "guestbook"! The title of your blog still makes me laugh! Thank you for stopping by the cabin...I think I must be the slowest blogger in bloggyland! lol :-) L~
ReplyDeleteHey Lori !
ReplyDeleteMy hubby goes to Hot August Nights too ! He has already bought his plane tickets and hotel room for this year ! I went a couple of years ago but won't be going this year......
Hugs ~ Kammy
What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteA Guest Book!
My sister is the genealogist of our family. We have been on several trips to search the micro fiche in libraries, too.
Glad To have found your fantastic blog!
I'll be back often!
Hi Lori! Have a great 4th of July weekend!
ReplyDeleteVery clever way to keep this on top, but I'm curious about how you got it to go ahead a post instead of just scheduling the post for whenever in 2010.
ReplyDeleteHi Lori, yesterday, I went on your blog and as soon as I was done commenting, blogger tried to open zillion windows of your blog! I had to shut down and reboot. I don't know what happened!
ReplyDeleteBtw, DT is Dollar Tree, a store where everything is priced at $1, so you can easily set a budget for anything you're thinking of doing.
Vintage Daisies, a cabin and a lab. Where do I sign up? Oh yeah, I already did! We don't have a creek but our Sunny loves fetching plastic fish out of the pool. His photo is on the right side of my blog along with Oreo, our crazy pound puppy.
ReplyDeleteDawn
Greetings from New York, Lori! Just stopping by to check out your lovely blog.

I've been sick, I nearly died in March of exhaustion here in the 21st century...I can't quite hold on to what day it is or month...I really getting better, thanks to just sitting around in my raggity old undewear and blogging..sooooooo
ReplyDeleteI make me a bowl of oatmeal and apples and deceide to check out a few things before the meds really start kicking in...........2010 WTF, it took me forever to see the disclaimer.
My daughter told me to STAY OFF THE COMPUTER after I take my medicine for the night. I'm here to say so sorry, I hit your site and another one in my ooowwwoooowwww state of mind.
ReplyDeleteAgain, so sorry.
Hello Lori, thanks for your visit on Foodie Friday. My grands have all gone home as of yesterday and I have a boatload of visiting to do. No time for commenting in all my chaos. I have been reading your blog and love it. 'and your humor'
ReplyDeleteNo coffee yet this am so I must get some NOW. I am like you and discovered blogging late in my life. I first read Pioneer Woman too. My friend Beverly at How Sweet the Sound helped me get started a year ago. No link, sorry. Now for my coffee.
Hugs...Jeanne
Lori--I have been at the beach and missed your poll! One of the reasons I comment is that I feel I have made some friends through blogging and I like to chat with them! I even missed y'all while I was away! Keep posting; I'll keep commenting :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lori,
ReplyDeleteJust catching up, I enjoyed my visit. I leave comments because I like receiving comments. It is so fun to see what the wonderful world of blogland is up to. Loved your blog, see you around soon.

Testing leaving a comment.
ReplyDeleteDaisies are FAB flowers!
ReplyDeleteOK, I had a half finished comment and then my little pup decided to pounce the keyboard and I have no idea where it went...but, as I had been saying...Thanks for stopping by and I love your blog. I am now headed over to see your Santas and can't wait to see them all because I am a certified Christmasaholic!
ReplyDeleteRobin@Miscellaneous Thoughts
Hi Lorie, I enjoyed visiting your blog. I also am a historian of sorts; at least family members think I am the keeper of all things historical. We have a lot of old photos, but not going back much before the turn of last century. My dad wrote our family history--he was an avid geneologist.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my blog! I'll bookmark your blog and check back!
Thanks for your wonderful comments on my kitchen re-do, I had to laugh, your comments were so cute! Neat blog, my family has it share of nuts too! LOL, Cindy
ReplyDeleteI will be happy to adopt you....you may have to wash the dishes however. Thanks for stopping by for a visit. i hope you will come again for Crock Pot Wednesdays.
ReplyDeleteLori, nice to meet you. Thanks for swinging by my blog to say hello. I always love when guests arrive. I'm glad you found paving stones underneath your overgrowth. Girl there is so much going on around here with hubby's health issues I'm incredibly behind on the outside stuff. I'm slowly getting around to it. With fall temps in the air winter will be hitting us in the backside quickly so I've got to get on it before then.. lol.. Hope all is well with you today..hugs ~lynne~
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog. :-) Well...we may find out we have some nuts in our family, as if we need to be told...! My 2nd born is taking an Abnormal Psychology course this term. Uh Oh....
ReplyDeleteYes. those three furry boys get along really well in there canine pack. Great dogs.
Have a good one!!
Your blog looks fantasic! (I have to say the date confused me at first! lol)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by 47th Street and leaving such a comment. You are so right about all the different looks people would have come up with. :)
Donna
Great place you have here!
ReplyDeleteHappy day to you and yours,
Christina :)
I enjoy your blog, I stop by when I can! and for sure there are some nuts on my tree :)
ReplyDeleteHey Lori, it's Michelle again!
ReplyDeleteJust stopping by to say hello. New England Historical Genealogy Society is now putting the CT Nutmegger online and I've been busy researching it lately. So far have not found any info I dont' already have but it's always nice to have another source.
Well, I'm considered the nut in my family and they've all made that clear for many years. I'm the one whose name is on the family tree and will be quickly forgotten with weeds growing up around it. I believe they think I'm the low hanging fruit. And that's okay because there is someone more nuts than me who is very famous and very unpleasant also hanging on the tree. They should all be happy I'M the one that shows up on Thanksgiving and not him.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog!
Hi Lori,
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my blog and entering the contest and also thank you so much for posting the button on your page.
It's always so nice to meet new friends.
I have loved my visit to your blog. You have a lot of great pictures and love the Santas!
Have a great day!
~Karen
Hi Lori,
ReplyDeleteFirst I wanted to say your salmon recipe sounds wonderful! Congrats on being asked to guest star @ Aglio, Olio & Peperoncino. I also enjoyed "Why I Laugh Every Day!" ... great fun!
Thank you for the visit and comment you left on my "caged birds" post! I was so honored by what you said.
BTW, no Stick-Um ... just a twist tie around the little bugger's neck attached to the side of the cage ... then a "cover up" with photo "cheating."
Wow ... anyone who just read the previous sentence is going to think someone is NUTS!!! ;)
Bill
Hello! You are the first blog I have found that loves genealogy! I also am a family researcher and have been doing my own family tree for the last three years. It is so addictive! I just love the hunt!!!!! Please stop by and say hello sometime! I have you in my favorites! Sandy
ReplyDeleteI love your checking in with your blog every day or two. Love your writings. You are so faithful to check out my blogs too. Thanks : ))
ReplyDeleteLori I love that word serendipty and experiencing it too like the other day when a bee came to join us for lunch. It was so fun to watch him slup up the little pilled up balls of soda on the side of my DH cup! (I was good and had water which the bee did not care about!)

Hi Lori! Thanks for stopping by my blog and becoming a follower. I am really touched. I love reading your blog. You have such talent! I look forward to following your blog and seeing what you are up to!
ReplyDeleteHi Lori!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments on my blog! You have me seriously thinking of starting another one for my genealogy work...but it feels a little overwhelming.....keep in touch! I sent you an email! Sandy
Hi Lori !
ReplyDeleteI am sure your LG computer will be fine - I love my LG cell phones and should have really stressed that it is the appliances where they aren't so good. They have been out for only a couple of years and they are number 1 on warranty claims and service calls....hmmmm - the appliances are made in Indonesia...I should never have purchased such a new product. One of the heating elements went out on the stove...I was told it is super expensive to replace. The microwwave door glass fell out after 14 months - it is siloconed in for now as a new door is a couple hundred dollars. The dishwasher's pump went out and it cost $70 for the appliance guy to give me a $400 quote to fix a $600 dishwasher...we decided to spend a couple more and replace altogether. I bought is at Lowes and gladly spent another $99 for a 5 year warranty. Enough ranting....Thanks for visiting me kind Lori !
Kammy
great post!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. I have bookmarked yours and have invited myself to be a follower. I was born in Austria. During and after the war, when my dad was a very young man, he traced the family roots all the way back to 1600-something. He spent most of his income sending for copies, mostly hand-written of birth, death, and marriage certificates. The reason he couldn't go back further, is that the last birth was an illegitimate one, a nobleman was the father, the mother was sent to a convent, where the child was raised, and the religious person who guarded the records wasn't open-minded enough yet to release any further information. I'm thinking today one could get that info, if the records survived the war. There were some interesting causes of death on the death certificates. Since I am the only family member left who can read and write German, these treasured papers are in my possession.
ReplyDeleteStill so embarrassed!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. Are you anywhere near Pendictin? (I probably spelled that wrong.)

okay Lori, here i am! i am a fan of genealogy too.mine's really interesting because, here in the Phil. we do have a good mix of genetic ingredients!
ReplyDeletemy mixture of Filipino (that's tagalog, cebuano, boholanon), Spanish (Castillian), Swiss, Chinese, French and Cuban is quite confusing?! whoa! i am able to trace the Swiss ancestry as far back as 1871 when my great great grandfather arrived and established a business (Almazen de Suiza) in the European enclave of Binondo, Manila. oh well, so much for that...
this is really a beautiful blog! i appreciate your wonderful, positive presence in blogspace...i'll be following...you're welcome to visit my blog too...
weena
I love your comment lines!! I may have to "borrow' them or come up with something similar! I read your RR train ride post, and I thought that was neat. Smart thinking on your mom's part, too!
ReplyDeleteYou have a GREAT blog! I am still learning how to add 'stuff' on, and tonight's assignment, If, as Randy says, I choose to accept it, is to learn how to add Twitter feed on.
One of my next ones then, is to learn how to add "I follow these blogs" like you guys do!
Baby steps!
G'night, God Bless, and Thanks for visiting my blog!
Sherry

Love your sense of humor along with all the wonderful ideas you share!
ReplyDeleteLori,
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your posted comments, encouragement, and fun things you come up with that helps those like myself to stretch and grow.
So, you make up your mind in 2 min. about the person you meet. We must be some what alike. I chose my husband when I met him the first time. LOL He thought I was nuts at first. We were married of course. ; ) a wonderful 38 years.
Thanks for the article link on coats of arms. I knew you were not supposed to get or display a coat of arms if you were not the direct descendant with the right to but did not know about the registry and forgery. Fascinating. To think my daughter had thought of making their own family coat of arms for their family home evening.
ReplyDeleteI found you thru BNOTP...and I am a BC girl as well! Just starting to check out your blogs but I will be passing you on to my friends!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lori~ Thanks for stopping by my blog! I love your owl slideshow. I'll have to show my 4 and 1 year old tomorrow. They will love it.
ReplyDeleteHi Lori, You invited me to check our your Santas so of course I did. Glad you enjoyed my Santas. Amazingly, I don't think you and I have a single Santa in common. So obviously it's a really big world of Santas out there with a huge variety of them. Enjoying your blog btw.
ReplyDeleteHi Lori about the Law Inforcement appreceation week I would like to say I remember well all the hard work they did when my son was stabbed they put so much work into getting the punks who did it But the crminal system let them down. Im sure you will remember to because you stayed by my side all through the trial. always thanks love you Dot
ReplyDeleteGreat blog title. Thanks for having all this great info and in such a fun format. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteFound our blog via SurfChick100 as I just met up with her last week and we were discussing brick walls in our family tree and she said to email you with my problem as you helped her so when I get a minute I'll make contact to see if you can help me too.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog by the way.
Hi Lori. I just wanted to say that I have finally tried one of your wonderful recipes..it was the Caesar Cherry Tomatoes (with dipping salt) and they turned out to be one of the best little appetizers ever! Stacked up in a pretty martini glass, they looked as good as they tasted. People asked for the recipe. One person said that he would like to make them to add as a garnish to his caesar cocktails, which is an excellent idea.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
So glad they turned out Shirley. I love to hear back from people who have tried my recipes. I haven't put the recipe on the blog yet but it is on my recipe web site https://sites.google.com/site/fromloriskitchen/
DeleteHi Lori. What a treat to be able to sign your guest book. Your blog is a pleasurable read. I always enjoy my visits.
