Last day of his birthday weekend at the cabin and the drains back up. That included the kitchen sink, the shower and the toilet.
They plunged and plunged until the seal on the toilet broke. Perfect.
He did learn a lot about septic fields this weekend.
Did you know that the septic tank should be only about 1 foot short of being full? Do you care?
Did you know that there is an intake and an outflow opening too?
Did you know that most problems are caused by the intake pipe being clogged up. In our case it was plant roots.
Did you know it is really hard to dig in earth that is frozen solid but if you heat it with a propane heater you can pick through it?
Did you know you can do a load of some one's laundry without even physically touching it? Believe me, you can. Yuck.
Gee, I can't understand why you don't want to go up there Lori... :)
ReplyDeleteBut actually, when Adam and I were there in the summer I made friends with the neighbour's dog, she was super cute. Ask Kyle. She snuck into the cabin and somehow that was blamed on my "encouragement" for it to visit with us inside... I plead the 5th. But it's one good point to visit up there :)
Yeah, plugged pipes, no floor coverings, no bedroom wall. Don't know why I'm not there.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the neighbour's dog needs much encouragement to come over. She is looking for Max's dog food. Max hasn't been up there in a long while.
C'mon Leah, tell the truth. Do you have kibble in your pockets??
I'm like the animal whisperer, animals instinctively come to me.
ReplyDeleteOk, no, I bribe them with treats...
