If there is anything I regret about genealogy it is not starting it while my Mom was still alive. She would have been amazed with the discoveries. Not to mention it would have saved me a ton of research time.
I have found that we are Metis, part Quebec French and part Aboriginal. In her lifetime she was ashamed of the fact but I know today it would be something she was proud of. We have come a long way.
The genealogy community is the most generous one I know. They share their families and research so readily. They are always trying to help others in their research. I am proud to be a part of it.
