The saga of my insomnia is a sad tale. Many of you know that I can't sleep. I fall asleep just fine but wake throughout the night and cannot get back to sleep for hours. This goes on day after day, week after week.
It doesn't matter how tired I am. I just can't drop back into deep sleep mode. I have tried everything except medication, which to me, is not an option.
Something has changed. I have slept every night for a week. I wake to go to the bathroom but go right back to sleep. I am sleeping 8 hours straight easily. Longer if I wanted to.
I have only changed one thing in my life that may be contributing to my new found state of zzzzzzzzzz.
I tried this not because it made any references to sleeping but just to boosting ones metabolism. I thought it sounded good and it does no harm. If nothing else it will help me get some much needed water into my system.
This "recipe" so to speak comes from Dr. Oz. I saw it on Pinterest and I know it has been featured on many other blogs.
I make up a jug full in the evening and keep it covered in the fridge. I have a glass while waiting for my morning coffee to be ready. I have a second glass before I leave for work. I try to drink the rest of it after work but don't always finish it in one day. I will have to get a nice travel cup to bring some to work as well.
I don't know if this is what is helping me sleep or not. All I know is that is the only change in my life and since I started it I am sleeping a deep, wonderful, dream filled sleep. Coincidence? Works for me.
METABOLISM BOOST
- 6 Green Tea bags
- 1 Tangerine
- Handful of fresh mint leaves
- 8 cups water.
- You can add some honey if you have to but I like mine as is
Brew the tea bags in the hot water. Add honey if using so it will mix in with the hot water. Let cool. I leave the tea bags in the jug but you can remove them at this point if you want. Add the sliced orange and the fresh mint leaves.
Try to drink it all in one day.
Could this be any more simple? Is this my miracle for sleep. So far I am saying yes it is. Even if it isn't what is helping me sleep this is a healthy drink so you can't go wrong.
