Today is the last day off I have of my holidays. I have not been at work since December 24th.
I had 30 hours of holiday time to use up and it couldn't have come at a better time.
As many of you know I have trouble sleeping and had recently reached the breaking point for lack of sleep. I am not upset or stressed about anything. I just can't sleep through the night.
We were busy through the holidays and I had lots to do. I was running on auto-pilot for most of it.
Then it happened. I slept. I slept through the night on December 28th. Then I had a nap on the 29th mid morning. Then I had another nap in the afternoon.
Bedtime came and I slept again right through the night again only getting up to use the bathroom and then falling right back to sleep.
I was not sick. I just slept. I relaxed and lounged around. I spent a day in my pajamas. I was more rested than if I had gone away on a holiday somewhere exotic. My batteries have recharged
I go back to work tomorrow and will be back in a routine during the daylight hours. Let's hope this new nighttime routine will continue also.
And no I won't be napping at my desk.
This is MOST wonderful news!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you slept...were relaxed...and are now rested.

I remember in the days of being menopausal I did not sleep much and most nights I would be awake all night. I am glad you got the rest you needed. Valerie
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful news. I have gone through stages of insomnia before, and you think you are loosing your mind.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and your lovely family.

How nice to have that terrible pattern broken! Here's hoping you're able to continue to sleep. It's amazing how something so simple makes all the difference to life.
