Hi, well, I'm an old woman, older than you for sure, that just found out what a blog is, sooo what do I do now??? Stalk th blogs in the comments on Pioneer Woman (my first blog experience, heck I thought it was a recipe site until my grown Son informd me) anyhow, I decided I wanted a blog myself, but anyone who's my age or close to it,is artistic or talented in some wonderful way & ME I'm just Meema. THEN I found you! You just blow it all out of the water! I'm SO hooked. You cook, you paint & you are fantastic at your hobby....I don't know whether to hate you or love you! LOL I choose, love,I love your whole blog! Oh yes, I'm dying to win the fantastic painted plaque you did....I'm probably too late for that too. But, I will be back,I have to continue to read all about all you do! Thanks for the uplifting blog today!

Hi Lori! Thanks gor stopping by my blog! I just love all your outdoor decor! Can't wait to see it in full bloom this summer! I'm in love with your birdhouses below, too. Very nice!

Lori E said...

If summer ever gets here I will make sure there are pictures. I remember trying to get that big bird house home in my old mini van. The rusted metal roofs cut into the seat. That didn't go over well. Then I cut myself a couple times. I don't think I will move it any time soon.

Hi Lori!

Nooooo... don't tell me I'm really haunted. remember .. I don't believe in ghosts!

Oh well.. if they are here, at least they don't eat much. :-) Not unlike my kids and their friends. I have two girls in their 20s. I see you have two boys. My mom, who had two of each variety of kid, said that boys were easier on their Moms.

LOVE your blog name. I always ask my girls if a new boyfriend has insanity in his family -- cause if he doesn't, he sure won't fit in with us!

Best... Cass

Thanks MOB. We give our dog plain yoghurt when her stomach is gurgling. She will eat anything but raw mushrooms. She quite plainly is a pig.

I think we very much have the same sense of humor!!

By the way, my brother in law married a girl from Vancouver (now my SIL) and so we were there for the first time last May for the wedding. It was just so beautiful (Vancouver...and the wedding). We rented a home in Kit--- can't remember but it was fabulous.

Anyway, come visit me sometime!

A garden isn't much without some good old-fashioned daisies in it. I always have Shastas in mine. But the heat is sending them packing for the season. I see you're proficient in genealogy. I would love to learn more about that, as there are so many blanks in my life. Don't know if my mother is alive. Never met my father nor any member of his family. Kind of a crazy story I was born into. Siblings that probably don't know I exist. Etc.

Tattered and Lost said...

Well, I'm considered the nut in my family and they've all made that clear for many years. I'm the one whose name is on the family tree and will be quickly forgotten with weeds growing up around it. I believe they think I'm the low hanging fruit. And that's okay because there is someone more nuts than me who is very famous and very unpleasant also hanging on the tree. They should all be happy I'M the one that shows up on Thanksgiving and not him.

Great blog!

Hi Lori !
I am sure your LG computer will be fine - I love my LG cell phones and should have really stressed that it is the appliances where they aren't so good. They have been out for only a couple of years and they are number 1 on warranty claims and service calls....hmmmm - the appliances are made in Indonesia...I should never have purchased such a new product. One of the heating elements went out on the stove...I was told it is super expensive to replace. The microwwave door glass fell out after 14 months - it is siloconed in for now as a new door is a couple hundred dollars. The dishwasher's pump went out and it cost $70 for the appliance guy to give me a $400 quote to fix a $600 dishwasher...we decided to spend a couple more and replace altogether. I bought is at Lowes and gladly spent another $99 for a 5 year warranty. Enough ranting....Thanks for visiting me kind Lori !

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I have bookmarked yours and have invited myself to be a follower. I was born in Austria. During and after the war, when my dad was a very young man, he traced the family roots all the way back to 1600-something. He spent most of his income sending for copies, mostly hand-written of birth, death, and marriage certificates. The reason he couldn't go back further, is that the last birth was an illegitimate one, a nobleman was the father, the mother was sent to a convent, where the child was raised, and the religious person who guarded the records wasn't open-minded enough yet to release any further information. I'm thinking today one could get that info, if the records survived the war. There were some interesting causes of death on the death certificates. Since I am the only family member left who can read and write German, these treasured papers are in my possession.

okay Lori, here i am! i am a fan of genealogy too.mine's really interesting because, here in the Phil. we do have a good mix of genetic ingredients!

my mixture of Filipino (that's tagalog, cebuano, boholanon), Spanish (Castillian), Swiss, Chinese, French and Cuban is quite confusing?! whoa! i am able to trace the Swiss ancestry as far back as 1871 when my great great grandfather arrived and established a business (Almazen de Suiza) in the European enclave of Binondo, Manila. oh well, so much for that...

this is really a beautiful blog! i appreciate your wonderful, positive presence in blogspace...i'll be following...you're welcome to visit my blog too...

Hi Lori. I just wanted to say that I have finally tried one of your wonderful recipes..it was the Caesar Cherry Tomatoes (with dipping salt) and they turned out to be one of the best little appetizers ever! Stacked up in a pretty martini glass, they looked as good as they tasted. People asked for the recipe. One person said that he would like to make them to add as a garnish to his caesar cocktails, which is an excellent idea.
Cheers!
