Mosaic Monday is one of the most creative memes going. The color combinations and the artistic creativity makes them really special.
Mary @ Little Red House is hosting so please be sure to have a look through the mosaics.
Wickertree is an interesting place not far from my sister's home on Vancouver Island. They took me there for a look around and as you can see it is an eyeful. I didn't get photos from inside the shops but you can see the furniture in many home decorating magazines, Architectural Digest being one.
The main Wickertree store is facing the highway but most of these other stores were in behind it encircling a courtyard with the fountain in the middle. The really sad part is that most of these lovely old buildings are empty. No one to love them. No one to fill them with special treats that would perhaps have been in my price range. So sad.

The shops that were side by side had been connected into bigger shops instead of individual specialty places. There was fabulous leather furniture and big beautiful wood cupboards, hand crafted. But really these photos are about the buildings themselves and not the stuff in them that I can't afford. Looking however is free. Unless you bump into something and break it.

I loved the sound of the crazy fountain made out of old steel cogs and stuff. There were birds singing all around. This rose was a huge bush and so fragrant but it had tiny little white flowers and I have never seen one like it before but it was definitely a rose. Any ideas?
What an adorable, charming town, and gorgeous white flowers! :O)
ReplyDeleteThat are really nice mosaics you made. Brings back a lot of memories when of my nanny time in Canada. Thanks for sharing with us.

ReplyDeleteWow - - - I LOVE that place. Hmmmmmmm, looks like I should plan a Canada vacation - - - - it would have to be a place where I could see Wickertree and hubby could fish - - - - is that even possible????
ReplyDeleteLooks like a neat place. One day when I make it back to Vancouver Island I'll have to search it out.
