Let's start in the gift shop. It is funny I didn't see the little black sheep until I looked at the photo because I think she would have come home with me for sure.

I know lots of you would like this dresser sideboard for your fabulous homes.
Much as I like this old stove I think I would prefer a gas range. Isn't it something though?
Can you say awwwwh. Isn't it cute? Oh wait you thought I meant the cradle. Sorry I meant the chicken egg basket on the floor.
Okay now we will discuss the food items on display. They have all this plasticized food. It was absolutely real food I am sure but it has been encased in a plastic. Honestly it is absolutely perfectly preserved. They had lettuce leaves done even. That whole pizza was plastic. I love pizza and probably would have tried a slice anyways had I not just had lunch.
These spreads are from a shop called Vista D'Oro. We often go there too. They bottle a walnut wine if you can imagine that. Lots of the farm gift stores sell each others products. The cheese shop does the same. The ones I bought were a walnut fig one and a blood orange campari vanilla.
Look at the view in this valley. There is always a breeze. In winter though it would be pretty harsh.

Hey Lori! good morning... and I LOVED this travel post. What a charming place to visit ... but I nearly fainted at the thousand-dollar price tag on that old cabinet. Holy SAH-MOKES!

I love that old wood stove. My Mom cooked on one in Oregon, 65 years ago -- loved it. I never had the pleasure, but I prefer good old gas -- and you don't have to screen your face from the heat while you are cooking then!
But the old one sure is pretty, isn't it? New stoves just don't have the same presence!

I am loving this tour, Lori!! I love gift shops like this although I usually walk out empty handed!! The wood stove is very cool, but of course impractical. I suppose some Wiz~type person could convert it to gas...
ReplyDeleteI have been looking for a cabinet & hutch for my kitchen in Michigan. I am getting so desperate, my resolve to pay as little as possible is waining. Need to check Craigslist.
