I am doing this 3 or more post early and hoping that by Tuesday Tam @ The Gypsy's Corner will be hosting as usual. I have not had much luck lately with the memes being where they are supposed to be. There are always interesting things over there to see so make sure you head over and visit the other blogs.
My 3 are the bird houses on one of the sheds at the cabin. They are very rustic as is the building. The wood on the shed is not stained dark that is just the old patina.
The roofs on two of the bird houses are pieces of tree bark, naturally curved. Please ignore the smudge on the lens of my camera. I am such a professional photographer...jeesh. This picture was taken in early May and the trees are looking pretty sparse. It is all green and lush now.
Birds actually do nest in there too.

ReplyDeleteOkay I have to confess that behind door number one are all the empties from the many visitors to the cabin. Let's just say there are enough to do many 3 or More Tuesdays.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really cute idea! I bet they love the protection under the eaves. Love that shed. I bet this is beautiful with all the trees in full leaf. Kathy
ReplyDeleteI love the rustic shed and birdhouses. I love that patina.
ReplyDeleteI put my birdhouses outside for the first time this spring and [duh] was surprised and horrified that BIRDS actually moved in.
Since I'm terrified of birds there is now an entire section of yard that I can't enter.
(Two words; Alfred Hitchcock.)
I've figured out why I love this theme.
My mom always used to joke, "If you've got three or more - you're collecting."
I have three daughters, and a LOT of other "collections."
This is the best theme evah.
Lorie, I love old weathered looking wood and buildings and the birdhouses are darling.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday.
What a lovely cabin.Love birdhouses.I had a very lovely blue one posted on a stick in the ground.Several years I had tits in it. Helas the wind and the rain got the birdhouse after almost 20 years ...I miss it because I had it right out of my kitchen window and when there where little birds in it it was a pleasure to do the washing up.
ReplyDeleteThat little cabin is adorable! Chic rustic! Plus I'm a sucker for birdhouses!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little cabin! I love your birdhouses...so rustic! It looks like you have a wonderful retreat in the woods! How relaxing!...Debbie
ReplyDeleteLove the rustic style. Every one should have such a cute place to store the "empties"!LOL!

Love this old shed...love it! And the tree bark as roofs on teh birdhouses are too cool.
ReplyDeleteHi Lori, the birdhouses are just adorable. I absolutely love birdhouses....there is just something about them!!
ReplyDeleteBarb
Great birdhouses! And I love that rustic shed -- what lies within???
ReplyDeleteCass
Love the little cabin! So wish I had one what fun to decorate!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little collection of birdie houses on your shed, Lori! And they're functional, too. Mine are all decorative and are set inside the house because I've deemed them too pretty for a little bird to put grass and other junk into them. I am not a good person, I guess....
ReplyDeleteYou must have some property- looks like nothing behind you but open land. I DO like trees!
hugs, Ethel
This is not the cabin but a little out building/shed. That is where the recyclables are kept until the bins are full. Funny how that doesn't take long at all.
ReplyDeleteThe area behind the fence is brush that blocks the view of the dike. The Tulameen River is right there behind us.
My BB guy and youngest son just spent a week there lounging in the river during the hot sunny days and working on filling the shed too.
Love that shed.... very rustic cute........ and the birdhouses are just the right touch...

Wow, Lori!! You do a post about birdhouses and all people do is compliment the shed! LOL!
ReplyDeleteWell...as a birdhouse aficiondo (always wanted to use that word. Probably didn't spell it right), I lean toward the rustic look. Unfortunately, birds can reek havoc on their little abodes and I have seen many prized birdhouses fall apart. So the more rustic, the better. Then you can't see all the damage.
As far as the shed, let's clean it out, spiff it up and play house in it.

Very cute! ~ Robyn
