A memory is just a memory,
It can be
Seen, not held
Felt, not touched
Told, not explained
Treasured, not experienced again

What a touching verse! So true!! Once again I have been grappling with the worries of A leaving for college and my mind keeps drifting back to memories of all my kids growing up and this "need" to hang on to them that way instead of moving on... This poem did a bit to set me straight. Thanks, Lori

How timely. You picked the perfect word to use and I love the verse. Thanks Lori.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad this resonated with both of you. I must give credit to Jen at Muddy Boot Dreams because she started her Wednesday Words today with a forget me not poem in honour of her MIL with Alzheimers. I just thought I would carry on with her theme.
ReplyDeleteNow at her site the amazing photographs turned note cards are all her own creations.
