I would just like to say one thing (as if I could ever say just one thing) . Please take a real good look at your font colours and how they look against your backgrounds. My eyes are not what they used to be for sure but especially on bright sunny days I have a lot of trouble reading your posts. Maybe you set this up a night time and the letters showed well. The font size is an issue sometimes too. I am on a computer a lot and my tired eyes squint to read the small print.
Now I don't want to have to blame you guys for my crows feet wrinkles around my eyes but I will if I have to. After all it couldn't be my advancing age that is causing them.
I know what you are talking about - - - but there is another factor too. I have noticed that even my OWN blog looks different on different computers depending on those computers settings. My font looks different sizes. I'm not happy about it - - - I want to be able to CONTROL how it looks, but between what blogger does to it once I hit "post" and the settings of various computers - - - it looks different on every computer I use to view my blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm really frustrated about it.
I concur, in spades, while admittedly I often do tiny print for effect in my posts.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm a hypocrite. My motto is "Do what I say, not what I do."
Some fonts and backgrounds affect my Meniere's.
Hate that.
Oh, and while they're making you squint - they're wrecking the effects of your $18 L'Oreal Advanced RevitaLift Deep-Set Wrinkle Repair SPF Day Creme.
Or no.
Hi Lori !
ReplyDeleteYou are so correct ! I sit at a computer all day long and I really don't like to squint at pics/words....I am trying to make my font bigger with my posts and I changed the color to stand out..let me know if you can read mine o.k. - cuz I value your opinion lady ! Sometimes when I come across a blog that is black with burgundy fonts - I just pass it up cuz it is too hard to read !
Hugs ~ Kammy
p.s. I can't believe that I didn't add my name as a follower before - I was just bookmarking people...silly huh ?
Hey Lori...I know what you mean some our hard for me to read ...but then I'm old and the smaller print is bad...I just myself started doing Large print and bogger pics a few weeks ago...May you have a great weekedn my friend...Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
ReplyDeleteBlack backgrounds. They look nice on the first glimpse, but then the words all seem to run together. Okay, maybe it's just my medication but I also have a hard time reading with incessant music playing in the background. While we are at it, why the word verification? Does everyone like the big pictures?
ReplyDeleteLucy
Oy! I concur with the black & navy blue backgrounds. It's cool to look at but not to read. I've been known to cut & paste blog posts onto a word document just so I could read them.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of music on blogs. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten spooked from a song popping up & I have my volume on high. I don't always remember to mute my volume beforehand.
I've actually stopped following some blogs due to the music. Mostly because I can read the blog or listen to the music - but I'm just not good at doing both.
So Lori, is my blog font too small? I've worried about that for the longest but never thought to ask or change it. If it is too small, how do you make it a permanent change or reset the default font size or do you have to alter it for each post?
There's creative...then there is overkill creative.
Keetha: I had no idea my blog would look different to some people. I wonder what it looks like?
ReplyDeleteSavant: Did you read my post about trying to pluck my eyebrows that turned out to be my crowsfeet wrinkles? Sad really.
Kammy: I see your font is big. I can read it clearly. I have lost some of the people that I follow from my list and I don't know why. They were there and then they were gone.
Gloria: I prefer to click on the pictures to make them larger. I don't know why but that's just my preference.
Sue/Lucy: I am with you on the music and the word verification. Maybe I have been lucky but I have not had any spam. As I said I prefer to enlarge the pictures myself.
Jane: Your font is small but it is black on white so not too hard to read. If you want it bigger go to Customize,Layout, Fonts & Colors, Text Size and then you will see to the right smaller or larger and you adjust it there.
I don't read blogs that have a black background and white font -- it's just too hard to read. I do know if you read blogs on Internet Explorer, they look different than they do on Firefox - and of course things look different on a Mac vs PC.
ReplyDeleteI only follow one blog that has music and I am always startled by the music if I've forgotten to mute the sound.
I have just a freebie blogger template, someday I'll have to be brave and learn how to use a three column template and manipulate the HTML - but until then, I go with standard font, black words, white background.
