This Thursday I would like to invite all of you to Treat Yourselves or someone special in your life. Take a minute, an hour or even the whole day to enjoy a treat.
This can be as simple as a moment to walk through your garden with no intention of weeding or clipping. It could be that perfect square of chocolate that no one else in the house has found yet. It could be manicures and pedicures or that full body massage you have been saving up time and money for. Maybe you haven't even done it yet. That trip abroad, the special pair of shoes you have had your eye on. Maybe you will treat someone else. Your spouse, your friend anyone at all.

I am treating myself to a smoothie. Just a few minutes of prep work and I have a pineapple, strawberry, banana, yogurt smoothie that is so good for me and so good to drink. I wouldn't hesitate to make this for someone else so why not take a minute for me and Treat Myself special.

That does look yummy! How did I treat myself today????? I went out and took some photos of my garden....my pride and joy. I am still toiling away on it, but sections are beginning to look the way I want it to....finally!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, Lori! will this be a weekly or monthly event?
ReplyDeleteI do try to treat myself regularly...this week I've had a massage, enjoyed some special cookies and set myself a pretty place for lunch...hmmm, wonder what I'll do tomorrow! It is so important to be kind to ourselves!
Happy Thursday!
;-D
Love the idea! I have declared this Spa Day at Home and shall thus enjoy making myself lovely. Now if I could only have someone bring me lunch, I'd be set!
ReplyDeleteI love smoothies. Something that almost feels decadent about them, huh? By the way, I love the name of your blog! I imagine that would fit most any family! I grabbed your logo for my sidebar.

I want a smoothie!!!! But it is too cold here. I think I will opt for hot chocolate instead. And I thought I was living in southern California. Seems more like winter, than summer. But I know when it gets hot (and it will), I'll be wishing for days like this past week.
ReplyDeleteYour blog party is fun. I wish I knew about it in advance and I would have played along. Are you going to do this again or on a regular basis?
I will do this weekly as long as I see some interest in it. I really would like to see that we are treating ourselves as well as we treat others. What I like about this idea is that it doesn't have to cost a penny and it doesn't have to be any work other than maybe taking a photo of the book you are reading or the patio chair you are going to lounge in (hopefully in your pajamas)and tell us about it.
ReplyDeleteMark it on your calendars for next Thursday and invite your friends.
Yup, no dishes to buy and haul back to the store right Lucy?
ReplyDeleteLucy
ps: Where is Ethel today? She needs to be here.
Lucy: Okay I thought you were watching Ethel, uh-oh. I don't have enough stores around me to keep returning stuff. I would have to keep it or start wearing disguises.
ReplyDeleteOK I can't do my special treat but I would LOVE to attend a couple's yoga with my husband. We have started doing regular yoga together and I have seen some bits and pieces of couple's and it looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea and will think more about how to treat myself for real next week!!!
Lori you are a treasure -- so glad I found you.
