As we get closer to Christmas I will be showcasing a Santa A Day from my collection. They are too special not to share them.
Click here to see one I painted myself.
This is the first posting of my Santa Collection. I have been collecting for several years and am running out of storage space. But every year I get more. Can't help myself. Many are gifts.
I only like the more offbeat or Old World styles. No shiny red Coke Santa for me.
This fellow is about 11 inches tall.
Christmas. *hanging head low* . No sooner do I finally get all the Christmas stuff crammed back up in the attic is it time to drag it all back down.
ReplyDeleteOh, I DO like that guy!
ReplyDeleteI have a thing for strings of lights, too!
Oh, he is a handsome Santa, Lori!! I love those old fashioned bulb lights. I think I may get some this year now that they make them lighter and more practical.
ReplyDeleteSo just how many of these Santa's do you have and how do you store all of them? Also, let us know the approx. size, it's hard to tell.
Love him!!

Oh Lucy! You are gonna make me swoon seeing all of your Santa's... But I just do not need to add another collection to my already bulging closets... So I will live vicariously through yours, ok? Where do you keep all these guys? hugs, Ethel
ReplyDeleteWell Jane I have over 100 Santa figures and painted pictures. I store them in large Rubbermaid bins so they are safe from any water and bugs. They are under my stairs and buried behind a lot of other Christmas decorations. I wasn't blogging until Feb. of this year so I didn't store them where I can get at them easily. My bad.
ReplyDeleteOk only cause I adore you will I allow you to use the C word in my presence. Actually I am better now that I was for many years (I will tell you the story some day in person).
ReplyDeleteBut I LOVE seeing your Santa's not even I can be a total grinch with those glorious figures around.
What amazing detail to find in a figure not 12-inches tall. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteOh no no no, Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHey my niece is hard into snowmen...These cold weather fetishes just leave me cold.....
I love your Santa especially because of his green velvet pants. Don't you always see Santas with Red or Wine colored pants? We ought to take a survey.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and commenting about my decision about the diningtable. Most of the gals agreed with you. Thanks for the help.

I LOVE the old world Santas!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting your collection.
Last year was a small celebration for us. The little boy in my daycare boy had just been diagnosed with cancer, and it turned our world upside-down.
This year I've promised/threatened a BIG deal, and your posts are timely.
Christmas; BRING IT ON.
Lucy! I was lollygagging around the medical people all day and just am getting around now. That is one beautiful Santa. I can't believe that you have over 100. Your Christmas photos are going to be so great.Hope you had a good day. I want to hear about your weekend get together.

Thank goodness! I, too, Lori am all about Christmas right now. Now that my son is finished with basic training, back home and back at college, I feel as if life can return to normal -if that's even possible!
ReplyDeleteI've been asking everyone at work if it was to early to start wrapping presents because I shop all year round and I already have lots to wrap! I have a Santa Claus collection too - not nearly as large as yours though - it adorns my mantle at X-Mas time. Is there anything that could possible make one happier than to look at Santa?! Hey, Lori - this might be meme worthy! I still don't think that I have the lingo down! LOL! I can't wait to see all of your Santas! Thanks for the Christmas Spirit!
My kids always shake their heads when I start watching Christmas movies in July!!
Hugs,
Cindy
You did a fantastic job on this Santa. His eyes have a twinkle!! I can't wait to see more of you collection.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your brother. It must be difficult not knowing anything.
Rhonda

I love this guy! He looks like he just stepped out of the Alps and is ready for Christmas. It's so hot here today I can't even begin to think about Christmas but you're putting me in the spirit now!
