I know there were some blueberry muffins over at
Designs by Gollum for Foodie Friday. Thanks to her for hosting us for Foodie Friday. Make sure you stop by and visit the rest.
My BB guy and I were going to have this dinner Wednesday night but he was so busy at work we had to put it off until Thursday. The economy seems to be picking up around here. Woo hoo.
I started with some halibut pieces from
Bruce's Market which I wrote about
here when I visited another time. I like my halibut simple. A smidgen of olive oil, salt and pepper and some Bronze Fennel from my garden.
We love asparagus and it is so good for you. We eat it a lot. This time simply steamed.

Corn on the cob. A little gummy. I wasn't too pleased with that.

Needed some tartar sauce. I never have it in the fridge but if you mix mayonnaise with some green pickle relish, dill and paprika you basically have tartar sauce.

A squeeze of lemon and I am all set.

I love halibut. I only wish that when my BB guy caught his halibut (
click here)the fishing camp sent us down the right fish. Unfortunately we ended up with blah pink salmon that was tasteless. He was a guest of someone else so he didn't make a fuss about it. He is more polite than I am.
I thought I'd stop by just for the Halibut ;). I read your comment on another blog about your silicon muffin pans. Just wanted to tell you that you can wash them in the dishwasher.
ReplyDeleteOh, Butteryum stole my line! Your meal looked yummy. ~ Robyn
ReplyDeleteHi Lori
ReplyDeleteI imagine that halibut is very good for you. I don't know the fish but as children we were given Halibut orange tablets...
Happy days
This is our kind of meal! We love halibut, but it is hard to get here and expensive when I do find it--I have a homemade tartar sauce on my FF post!
ReplyDeleteSomeone already used the "just for the halibut" joke. Darn.
ReplyDeleteThis looks absolutely wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteI love halibut and you're right — I like mine simple also. The fennel from your garden looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect meal. It looks delicious. I hope you are having a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteTHIS IS JUST PLAIN WRONG.... i have no halibut, i have no asparagus and i only have my frozen corn... :(
ReplyDeleteThis looks darn good! What's for desert?
What a beautiful meal! I love halibut.
ReplyDeleteOk if this is what Foodie Friday looks like then my post is NOT Foodie Friday - its an artistic mess LOL.
ReplyDeleteOMG your halibut looks awesome - is Bruce's good for fish -- I can never find a good place except the TNT and I don't like going there.
Lucy it looks very beautiful and healthy. I haven't had halibut in a long time. I must get some while at home just for the halibut.

I love fresh fish, asparagus, and corn. What time is dinner?
ReplyDeleteI had to chuckle because this stirred up memories for me. When my daughter was in High School she worked at a tea room but at night they switched to a dinner menu. She was working one night and we decided to stop and eat. She told us the special was "halleybay". We asked her to repeat it and she kept saying "halleybay". I realized she meant halibut and laughed myself silly. To this day we tease her and now we are making her little son say "Halleybay" when he sees a fish:)

This looks delicious! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI also love genealogy:)
I believe that you now have a foodie blog like my friend Anne. I'm not a fish fanatic, but your plate look great. I do, however, love blueberries.
