A visit with Susan @ A Southern Daydreamer will be time well spent. You can see all the different Outdoor Wednesday posts.
These photos were taken over the last 12 days up around our cabin in the Princeton area. Ignore the date on the camera as my BB guy has no idea how to change the date and it is his work camera.
These guys range in age from 13 to about 57 years old but they still have one thing in common. They love the outdoors. Our sons were not there but our friend was there with his young son and our other friend was there with his grown son.
They eat like kings (I taught him everything he knows about cooking) and they travel through the mountain sides on roads that trucks can't get through. And they have fun. Dirty, grimy fun.
Well that is all I can say because you couldn't pay me enough to go along on one of these rides.
Lucy, what fun you must have doing laundry caked with mud! *big smile* Gorgeous scenery, though...

OMG Boys and their Toys - don't blame you for not wanting to join in. My son used to take over the laundry room last year when he lived here after one of his bike weekends.
ReplyDeleteMeeting for coffee is so civilized!! Mom reminded me to stop at Hopcott for fresh corn - hope they have some on Saturday.
Uggh, the first thing I thought of when I saw these pictures was... clothes are going to a laundromat - there would be no way I'd let all that back in my home! Hose the boys off in the driveway! Give em a scrub brush & a beer & have at it!
ReplyDeleteAhhh...the testosterone. That looks like an adventure that would make my 16 year old dare devil son sooo very happy. Better not show him this post.

Only one of those mud puppies belongs to me. The rest will have to figure out their own laundry issues.
ReplyDeleteThe funny part is they were up there for several days. I don't want to know what kind of smell was coming off their clothes by last day.
see, now this is my perfect example of boys and their toys and it makes NOOOO sense to me :)

Hahahaha... getting dirty! Man's favorite sport. (And I have no double meaning in there!)
ReplyDeleteGreat mud! Cass
I suspect they had a great time man camping. The pictures are a hoot. Good luck with the laundry.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful place! Why do men love to roar around in mud? It's some sort of primeval thing isn't it? I once had a pig that used to do the same thing sans motor and clothes.

Looks like they had a ball!!!!!

I hope to chat about your genealogy research one day! I managed to trace my family (paternal side) back to 1754. I plan to write a book one of these days on my family history!

A fun ride. Great post.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic place to ride quads - Yep even a girlie can aspire to get dirty occasionally (no I'm not being rude!)
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame the lovely scenery had to be spoiled by the noise of the machinery, but what fun!
Yes I am living in rose coloured glasses land - WHAT LAUNDRY?? Does it still have to be done if you chose not to notice it LOL
Men will be boys.
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I would absolutely LOVE this trip!
ReplyDeleteYou must have enjoyed that vacation. Seeing the pictures makes me want to go there. It's like anyone who wants adventure will have a blast on that place. It's a good thing that the boys love outdoors. They appreciate what nature has to offer.Thank you for sharing the photos. Really great.
