THREE OR MORE TUESDAY- THE FARM HOUSE NATURAL CHEESES

If today is Tuesday it must time for 3 or More Tuesday over at The Gypsy's Corner.
The instructions to join in are over there but please do leave a comment here before you go.

This 3 or more post is part of the road trip from Saturday. One of my coffee buddies and I started out that day to get some fresh berries from a farm and ended up going to an area called Harrison Hot Springs. Our group often heads out here on our road trips because there is a variety of things to do and see here.

One thing that they have there in the late summer is the sandcastle competition and it is really something to behold.

This is not what we came for though. There are a variety of artisan shops in the area and one of our favorite stops is The Farmhouse Natural Cheeses. They make such a great variety of cows milk and goats milk cheeses here. Plus we always have a gelato before we leave. They had a framed picture of the Cow of the Month last time I was there but I guess the goats complained because I didn't see one this time.

I picked up 4 cheeses this trip. It was a tough choice to make though.

Descriptions taken from the Farmhouse website:

FARM HOUSE CAMEMBERT
Just like in France: a natural mould-ripened favourite. Smooth creamy interior with a white bloomy crust. Pronounced truffle taste.

FROMAGE FRAIS
A fresh cream cheese made from whole dairy milk and an aromatic European culture, giving it a lemony freshness. Wonderful plain, or in spreads and baking. Available bulk in tubs, or as Spiced cheeses in a 3” round, table-ready.

FARM HOUSE GOUDA
A real old-fashioned farm house Gouda, with a slight sweetness. Also made with the addition of herbs, cumin seed, or chilis.

Clockwise from the top left: Peppercorn Fromage Frais; Chili Spiced Gouda;
Camembert & Garlic Herb Fromage Frais.
Okay this is where I have to come clean....do you know what I ate some of these beautiful cheeses with when I got home?
This looks great right? But what is missing? I didn't have the nerve to put them in the photograph. I had no artisan breads. I ate them (sniffle) with Ritz crackers. I know! All this fresh beautiful food and I only had Ritz crackers. Hanging my head in shame.
The spoon has a delicious spread of Blood Orange Campari Vanilla jam and I had Ritz crackers.

What a gorgeous post Lori! The sandcastles sculptures are amazing in every way.

You are making my mouth water for cheese. LOVE cheese. Seriously, way too much. Ritz crackers are fine with me. The jam sounds good too.

Have a blessed evening.

The sand castles are fantastic, but, . . . Oh My Stars!!! That cheese looks out of this world. I think if I had been there, I would think I had died and gone to heaven!

Fromage frais is something that is eaten in Belgium every day of the week. We eat is in all kind of different way. Most of us eat it plain with a bit of sugar or jam added. What is very traditional is plain fromage frais spread on a big slice of good homemade bread. A bit of salt and pepper and some radishes. Very refreshing with a pint of Stella (also Belgian) beer.
I like it very much like this or as a sweet variety I like it with apple and pear syrup. Memory's from my youth....

Lucy, I don't even need crackers for my cheese- a spoonful(or two or three...) of the soft stuff is perfectly fine, or some slices popped into the mouth will make me happy! Looks like a fun little getaway. hugs, Ethel

Lucy, The cheeses look so good. I am really partial to Gouda. It comes second to Feta. I noticed the nice glass of wine sitting there. Everything tastes special with wine, even Ritz. Not only that, he world even looks beer with wine. Too bad I am going to be without it for awhile..

I love cheese, but those sandcastles are absolutely amazing. I have never seen anything like them. Several years ago we happened upon an ice sculpting festival, which is also unbelieveable. Looks like you had a great day.

Hahahaha... Ritz crackers. The Gourmet Police are on the way, ready to kick in your door and confiscate the Farmhouse cheeses... which did not deserve such a fate!

Those cheeses look beyond delicious! I love cheese -- more than I should!

Amazing sand castles. I never was able to make a decent sand castle, so those completely awe me.

But I'd take the cheese over sand any day.

And my computer's back -- with a new monitor! That was the problem all along. Oy.
