I often get my brain wave ideas for my posts after commenting on one of your blogs. Just now I was over at Life on an Artistic Shoestring having a look at more of her guest room that she posted simply because I demanded asked.
I mentioned to Shirl that I had an idea from a packaging store in my area. Put one of these lovely containers in your guest room and put in some essentials that your guest may not have brought with them. The name of the shop is Essential Packaging of course. Have a look for some great ideas. They have many other containers so you can get lots of ideas there.
You can put in something for headaches, heartburn, diarrhea, toothpaste, mini soaps, make up remover, lotion, all kinds of things. How nice for them and you when they don't have to knock on your bedroom door at 3:00 a.m. for some antacid, or suffer all night.
How about some local attractions, maps, shopping etc. for when you are at work. The sky's the limit. Let me know if you actually do this and what you have put in yours. Maybe some things to munch on if they get hungry in the middle of the night.

Hello British Columbia! I have done this for guests....although, I don't have too many since all our bedrooms are full at the moment. I must admit I stole the idea from my step mother, who would always have a little welcome basket in the bedroom when I visited. Cheapskate that I am, I usually put travel sized items in my basket....those taken from various motels and hotels where I have stayed....lol
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Lori!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention! It really is a nice thing to do for your guests, regardless if it's for a wedding or not. Thanks again! Anna @ The Essential Packaging Store
Hi Lori! LOVE the "Girls are Meaner" wine! What a riot. How does it taste? Like sour grapes? Hahahahahaha....
ReplyDeleteWe usually put a basket with some essentials for guests, little sample sized items I get at the local beauty supply shop -- very cheap, lol. I don't have ritzy stuff in there, probably because most of our overnight guests are under 25 and wouldn't know the ritzy stuff from the plain.
Love that little box ... very cute! Thanks for the link.
Have a good weekend! Thanks for visiting...
Cass
Oops me again -- forgot to say we always have a tray in a guest room with glasses and bottled water. Not exciting, but useful.

I have one of those little pitcher things with the cup that sits on the top like a lid. I put white wine in it instead of water so they don't wake up until noon. That way I don't have to get up and make them breakfast.
ReplyDeleteI have a basket of things in my Guest room bath for my guests now...but like th anacid idea...thanks for sharing Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
ReplyDeleteThe gable box is a good tip....I too put a basket of their favorite confections. The guest bath sink houses a (decorative) container filled with toiletries and (new) toothbrushes with mini toothpastes. I have hatboxes on each toilet tank with a hidden roll of toilet paper that I only disclose to my female guests...we're usually the ones left stranded with the cardboard tube on the dispenser!!
ReplyDeleteThis was fun!
I look forward to visiting again. Stop by, I'd enjoy the company.
Sweet wishes,
Sara
