Did I ever tell you I have a thing for roosters. Well I do. It seems cliche but I don't care. Although I am a city girl through and through I like the country look in my home. It seems grounding to me. Permanent, like it has always been there.
This piece hangs in my stairway. I bought it at a little shop that was nearby. I would sell my tole painted pieces out of there and often spent as much as I sold. They had so many creative people selling there. It is not something you see in many stores. Easy to make though if you take a close look. The rooster is actually a piece cut from a wallpaper border and isn't painted at all. The chicken wire is real.

Oh I LIKE that - - - the chicken wire in the background is fabulous!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh I love roosters and chickens too. Your pic is just gorgeous. What a clever way to frame the print. Love it. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteGar loves roosters, and when we got married everyone gave us so many rooster motif items, that we were crowded out of house and home.
ReplyDeleteStill love them, but finally we have stopped people from giving us more.

I love the chicken wire idea...that idea could be used in so many other ways and styles...Nice!
ReplyDeleteI love farm animals. This one just helps herald the dawn - maybe I don't like him soooo much. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove it! The chicken wire is the icing on the cake!
ReplyDeleteVery nice and agree about farm life....in general! Good thing since I live on one! LOL! I would like to get chickens but we live near a road and I heard they're hard to contain even with nets? You don't have to worry about them on your wall! Luanne
ReplyDeleteBeautiful rooster frame. The chicken wire is very original and gives it a great look...Christine
