I have read about some great things that my fellow bloggers are involved in. Charitable causes, protecting children, animal welfare and many others. I volunteer at our Senior's Centre and I know the time involved as well as the satisfaction it brings.
I have created an award to give out to a deserving person. If you know of such a person too you are welcome to take my award from the sidebar as long as you post a link back to this post and let me know to whom you have awarded it and why you chose them.
This presentation goes to:
- Sue @ Luxe Lanai - Sue fights the fight to get through PTSD and the depression that comes with it. To help her get her days on track she is adopting a dog and will not only give this dog a great home but she will also visit the Seniors Center in her area with the new pooch to brighten up the lives of the patients there. ATTA GIRL SUE
This is really wonderful Lori. I used to volunteer all the time all over but when my husband got sick I had to focus on him. Now as I am approaching retirement I am looking to get back into volunteering - slowly and surely. I have interviewed already for the Olympics only time will tell if I get the job.
ReplyDeleteWay to Go Sue!!!
Great idea Lori.
ReplyDeleteWhile I know that we don't volunteer for the kudos, it is nice to receive the occasionally small acknowledgement about the extra unpaid work we put in for the benefit of the community.
Good on you Sue - keep up the great work!
What a great idea to recognize all the wonderful volunteer work everyone does. I volunteer for the Seniors here in our town, just checking on them, running errands, helping them clean or whatever they need. It is really rewarding and all my little people become great friends. It's also good to be out and about and give back to others. You've done good girl!!!! Hugs, Marty
