I have chosen this snowy post in sympathy with part of northern Manitoba, Canada who actually had snow this long holiday weekend and they are expecting more. I don't live in Manitoba but I am a bit concerned about the weather patterns this year. I know volcanic eruptions can play a part in our future weather. See this post: The Year Without Summer. With the severe cutbacks everywhere I think more people than ever will be counting on home gardens for food. Let's hope the weather cooperates. Now I am off to make coffee and get into my garden. I have some Heirloom tomato plants that need a home.
This is the view from our cabin in Coalmont, B.C. and was taken this winter.
Isn't it beautiful? I know. And me the city girl rarely goes there. (okay there was that trip with Wendy and Rhonda last summer, the neighbours are still hearing the 60's music in their heads)
It is a real haven for BB who goes regularly to de-stress and unwind. He has become quite a good cook up there apparently. I taught him everything he knows.

If all goes as planned Christmas 2009 will be at the cabin. I know Coffee Group will believe it when they see it but I will go if both kids can make it too. Cause I'm like that...giving and cooperative. No, no it is not all about me.
Such a gorgeous setting and picture. Beautiful. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteHi Lori, what a great idea, I am glad that you passed it on to us. "I am still doing my I'm in the Garden - Archives," every Sunday for now, but this is tempting.
ReplyDeleteWho knows?
Jen
Very pretty. Laura @ the mansion
ReplyDeleteCame here from Sunday Favorites! You have a beautiful view! City girl here, too, though!
ReplyDeleteOh, I would go there in a HEART BEAT - - - snow or no snow, winter or summer. It is BEAUTIFUL!!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty pic. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteReally you don't go there? It is so beautiful. It's hard to imagine snow anywhere this weekend, but I not too surprised. I hope you are having a great FĂȘte de la Reine weekend! Keep those Heirlooms warm....
ReplyDeleteCabins are such a blessing. We have one in Idyllwild, California and it is the only place on the planet where I can go and relax on a regular basis. There are days when there that I don't change out of my PJs the whole day!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe snow looks mighty good right now. It was over 100 degrees at my house yesterday. I would so love to have a cabin in the mountains. And I would so love to visit British Columbia someday. Thanks for visiting my post & leaving me a comment.
ReplyDeleteHi Lori...
ReplyDeleteOoooh...what a beautiful site!!! The landscape from your cabin looks heavenly!!! I have to admit that I think the mountains and pine trees look best in the snow!!! I hope that you get to spend your Christmas there...it would be ideal!!!
Yes, I do think that weather patterns are changing! We never really know what to expect these days...do we? And I also agree with you about folks considering gardening more so now then ever before...but I don't think that's a bad thing!!! There's nothing better or healthier than home grown fruits and veggies! We live in a very arid part of Colorado and after considering all the water a garden would take...I don't know if we'd come out much ahead but I sure would love some garden fresh tomatoes!!!
I'm so glad that you joined in with the fun of Sunday Favorites...I loved the post that you decided to share once again...although it was new to me! I do apologize about getting over to your place so late! I was away over the weekend and I'm just now getting to the computer! I also wanted to thank you for your sweet comments on my Frenchy Christmas!
Have a wonderful week, my friend!
Warmest wishes,
Chari
