My BB Guy was at the cabin last weekend and while out and about he came across a local who decided it was time to start eating.
He was really stuffing his face having not eaten in a few months. BB Guy was close but not to close. The camera lens helped him get up close in personal without bothering Mr. Bear.
Look at that shaggy old coat. He/she will rub it off over the next few weeks and tufts of it will hang from the tree trunks that they rub against.
Luckily there were no babies around or even this distance with a camera would be too dangerous.
We have had bears right at the cabin. I always keep my distance.

My husband and I just spent a week in Yosemite National Park. There are signs all over warning that BEARS are VERY ACTIVE now! We didn't see any but, they were sure on my mind while we were out hiking in rather remote places. These are such fabulous shots of this cuddly little guy...I, so, wanted to get a photo of a bear on this trip, but, from the car or something like that. I love this post!
ReplyDeleteWell Lori I guess it was better he was eating grass than him! Yikes I would not want to run into one of those guys. I'm afraid to do the Grouse Grind because of the bears. There seems to be so many over the last few years! I guess we're just taking over their space! Hope you have a great Outdoor Wednesday and enjoy the Easter Weekend! Sherri : )

ReplyDeleteI was going to say he looks rather hefty for having slept for the last few months. We had a great video from our street many years ago - the neighbour was in the house behind a huge picture window but the bear looks likes it running right at him. Bears were a constant in our backyard.
ReplyDeleteSo the bears are out and about now. Are they a nuisance? I suppose from a bear's point of view, we're the ones who are a nuisance.

Oh my, coming across one of those big guys would scare me to death. It is thrilling to experience nature up close and personal, but that is a bit too "up close" for me!! Those pics are great your husband must be the calm type. My pics would be all blurry from my hands shaking from fright!

ReplyDeleteI have seen a bear in the wild. It is amazing isn't it. Nothing like seeing one in a cage in the zoo! I also saw a video of a guy getting ripped apart by a bear- for reals!
I had to go lie down for two hours after.
well now...that is something neat to see! I know my parents have bears around their farm sometimes, but I have not ever seen them. I hope you have a great Easter!
