LOOK OUR FOR SPAM COMMENTS FROM TOUR AND TRAVEL AND SEWA MOBIL. PLEASE DELETE. DON'T ALLOW THESE PEOPLE TO USE YOUR BLOGS TO ADVERTISE THEIR CRAP. IF YOU LEAVE THEM ON YOUR SITE THEY WILL COME BACK. I ALSO SUGGEST REMOVING THE FOREIGN LANGUAGE COMMENTS AS THEY ARE USUALLY FOR PORN OR TRAVEL SITES.
IF YOU DON'T HAVE EMAIL NOTIFICATION SET UP FOR THE COMMENTS I SUGGEST YOU SET IT UP BECAUSE THEY GO BACK INTO OLD POSTS TO TRY AN HIDE THEIR CRAP.
DELETE, DELETE, DELETE.

Way to go Lori!!! All of my comments come through email. I like it this way, and although there is a delay if I am working all day, at least I know what is being posted.
ReplyDeleteGotta wonder who these fools are? Why do they spend so much effort in doing this?
I had a few comments in other languages, and I looked up their blogs. If they never replied to my questions regarding the content of their comment, I never bothered publishing it. It's just not worth having p o r n and other offensive words in another language on my blog.

Those drive me nuts! I keep comments unmoderated on posts less than 3 days old, then I moderate due to spammers.
ReplyDeletegreat advice. I've been getting a lot of spam lately on older posts and have had to set up comment moderation on any post more than two days old. I'll see if that works but other than that...delete!
ReplyDeletethanks for info. will delete if they try.
ReplyDeleteI've started moderating comments on posts older than 7 days after a friend discovered a huge number of comments on some of her older posts. She clued me in, so far no problems. I haven't had an issue with foreign language comments, but have had some travel agency spam. Kathy
ReplyDeleteEffin' pigs. Srsly. Annoying.
ReplyDeleteI have to pre-approve comments before they get posted, and I've never been interested in "monetizing" any of my blogs. So no spam here. I did however, have problems with it when I used Wordpress.
ReplyDeletemakes me so mad....
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip. I need to go back and change some things.
ReplyDeleteSpreading the word about controlling spam seems like a good idea. I've noticed a huge uptick in SPAMMERS lately even on non-monetized blogs. I guess I'll never understand the point of spammers since I suspect no one ever clicks on the links, but like you I delete it whenever it shows up. I don't moderate comments on the first couple of days after publishing a post, but I do moderate them from day 3 on and that helps me keep my blogs clear of SPAM on older posts. I guess it's just a part of the virtual life.
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
