Do you wear jeans? I love jeans. I love that they are so comfy. I love that they usually last a long time and can look dressy or very casual. I can wear them to work on Casual Fridays and on Mondays as well. They come in so many sizes but some people do have a very hard time finding some that fit.
I am only 5 feet tall so I have to buy petite pants but I am also heavy so I need a large size. Try finding that. Not very many places have those here. Maybe in the US it is a little better.
I was reading an article about custom made jeans that you design yourself. There was a survey done in 2008 that said 53% of women agree that "I find it very difficult to find a pair of jeans that fits perfectly" and a further 16% said "they would rather shop for a swimsuit". This survey was done by the firm Synovate.
Apparently there is a company that will let you create your own perfect pair of jeans. You choose the fit, rise, inseam, knee, bottom leg opening. You choose wash style from faded to dark almost black. Skinny leg, straight, boot cut, flared. Button or zipper fly. Pocket styles. Stitching, silver or gold. With or without wear or holes. Lots of choices to make.
And what does this "perfect" jean cost? Between $165 and $210 US. They are made in Mexico and this includes the shipping costs. Seriously? Are you really serious? I would not pay that for a pair of jeans. Nope. Not even if they were a perfect fit.
Would you pay that? Do you have a favorite style that you buy over and over again? How much is too much for a pair of jeans?

ReplyDeleteI hope blogger will let me comment now. I've been trying to say, that if you have to buy a bigger size, they also think you are 30 feet tall!
ReplyDeleteQVC offers a jean that is specifically made for your measurements. They have a little form you fill out and viola! in about a month you have some very nice fitting jeans. You can choose the style and the type of zipper or snap, pockets or not, etc. I think they cost about $60. That was a few years ago but you might check it out...I still have mine and I love them.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend.

ReplyDeleteLori,
ReplyDeleteWould I pay that???? Heck NO!!!!! I have found some jeans at ( of all places) JC Penny in their women's dept. that fit great! My legs are not big, but my butt and stomach are huge...try finding that combo! :) They have some lycra in them so they stretch around my middle but my legs are nice and tight...no baggy back leg! They have online shopping, check it out! I thinkt hey come in different sizes...also try "Woman Within"...:)
Sweats fit good too and they don't cost as much.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm losing weight right now and I don't even know what will be the perfect fit w/my new bod yet. Way back pre-babies, it was Levi's loose fit, bootcut. I loved them dearly.
ReplyDeleteWell I just went on to MyShape.com and they do a custom jean, so I tried it and it came out with $145 for them....thought maybe it would be a bit cheaper but no luck!!
ReplyDeleteGosh, a perfect fit, huh? Well - - - - - No way! Dang though. I love the idea.
ReplyDeleteNo,I would not pay that amount for a pair of jeans.I have a problem, not with my legs, that are quite slim,or with my waist, but I can not find jeans that come up to my waist. they are all made for teenagers who can afford to show their bellies, which is something I can not do.!!! I want high jeans that support my tum and keep the flabby bit hidden.!! Levi's are good, but very expensive here,I have two pairs but they are very well worn now, will have to save up for some more.
ReplyDeleteMy perfect jeans were discontinued by Levi several years ago. Now I buy them used and sometimes can even find a pair that never even been worn before!
ReplyDeleteThe most I will pay for a pair of good fitting jeans is $79. I found some great ones at Chico's. Not "mom" jeans, either. Workin' on getting into a smaller size soon, so I'm gonna wear the heck out of this pair before I buy my skinny ones. One never knows how long that will take.... LOL I've missed visiting w/ya. xo Sue
ReplyDeleteI would never pay that. $20 is my limit. What can I say? I'm cheap. I've never had a hard time finding jeans that fit well. Dress pants on the other hand are a nightmare!
ReplyDeleteThat seems to be a bit much for a pair of jeans...the ones that fit me best were secondhand Gloria VanderBilt's...nice fit...just enough stretch...
ReplyDeleteI've got a favorite store called Ella's in Brookswood where I buy my jeans. Parasuco is the best :)
ReplyDeleteBuild your own Jeans - try NYDJ (Not Your Daughters Jeans in Canada) @ TTJ (Tummy Tuck Jeans in the States)
ReplyDeleteThey come in dark blue or black; in various sizes 0-24 inclduing petites; and leg styles. They are a little pricey, but worth every penny as you will have them for years........ They never seem to wear out.

Oh, any jeans that have a 36 inch inseam are my fav's. Try finding that!
ReplyDeleteI am super tall, LOL, at least that's what the manufacturers think, I think that I am normal.
What's with the tall sizes, they are sooooo short, and no I wouldn't pay anything over $40.00 for a pair of jeans. Can't do it, just can't do it.
