Did you know that if you buy an artichoke and let it dry out naturally you will have a beautiful dried artichoke. Sometimes if you have a big one it will send out it's blossom from the center. It is purple like a thistle and keeps a long time. Then one day you will walk into the room and there will be puffs like from a dandelion all around your artichoke. Poof.
Very beautiful. I just ate a steamed artichoke the other day for dinner. It was delicious.

Can't say that I have ever eaten a fresh one but I have bought plenty and dried them out. Now marinate one in olive oil an spices and I'm right in there.
