Yes we were made up and had our hair done and pro photos taken but we still have the little "imperfections" so to speak. No I don't think of them as that but you know how we look at our double chins or our acne scars or that awful third eye that we hide under our bangs (just checking that you were really reading this) and wish they could be air brushed away.
I have just read that fashion retailer Jacob will no longer alter the bodies of the models in their ad campaigns. This Quebec based company is going to show 3 versions of the same photo. The raw image, one in the ad campaign and one that has been retouched like in the old days on display in their stores.
After that they say they will only retouch to remove tattoos, scars and to even out skin tone and fix the colors. Well that is a start isn't it.
Lori-I never had a glamour shot made, but I know I could use "retouching" in person...wouldn't that be nice ??
ReplyDeleteI;m glad you posted this because I missed your post about the party. I've a few old pictures lying around from back in the day when I wanted to be a model. Totally un~retouched!! I will post your button!

I have always wanted skin without pores!
ReplyDeleteIt is a start. Good for the company that won't re touch the models images. Reality based advertising would be a treat, no?
ReplyDeleteMakes me feel much better about their flawless skin. Now I won't feel so bad when I look in the mirror. Maybe.
ReplyDeleteCrap! I wish I could retouch those badboys! Like completely delete my face! LOL
