Chari @ Happy to Design is hosting Sunday Favorites. We pick an old post and repost it for you to see, probably for the first time. It is a great way to take some time off and to show you something that you may not have seen from previous years. Stop in and say hi to Chari and to visit the other links. Link up yourself.
This was first posted back in February of last year. The dog is now 13 years old and peeing is an even bigger issue. The son? Not much has changed there.
What a beautiful morning. A perfect combination of having the bed to myself, cozy and warm and the birds singing, a sure sign of spring coming. I slept great and had planned on staying in bed longer (mainly because the coffee shop doesn't open until 9:00 a.m. on Saturdays) when the dog decided she had to pee and it would have to be now. When you are dealing with a 12 year old female dog you believe her when she says she has to go now.
I dragged a warm blanket out to the living room with me and tossed it onto the couch where unseen by me my eldest was sound asleep. We have a big hide-a-bed downstairs and a guest room with two more beds but he figured the living room would be the best place to sleep. Not to mention he has his own place where he can sleep undisturbed on his couch or floor or bed or kitchen counter for that matter.
Why do I look like the annoying one when I wake him up to move to the other room so I can watch the morning news? Jeesh. It's not like I threw cold water on his head or something. It was a warm soft blanket. No I am not harbouring bad feelings for having run over the hose end that he left out. (click here to see that post) It was completely innocent.
Did I mention that the birds were singing?

Good morning, Lori. Did you link this over at Chari's, cause I don't see it over there.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a normal house. Too funny when it is someone else, not so much when it is you. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteJust concentrate on that...the birds were singing.
ReplyDeletethe birds were singing....the birds were singing...
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Lori!! Wake that guy up and take him out to breakfast!!
ReplyDeleteA peaceful...what?! MOVE! morning...
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great thing to concentrate on...the singing birds.
ReplyDeleteI have noticed a lot more birds around and lots of singing in the bushes outside of my bedroom window in the mornings...so nice to hear...spring is coming!
ReplyDeleteKids think they own the house, don't they? I'm learning that already, LOL.
ReplyDeleteYep a pretty normal family if you ask me. I used to be so bad about waking up in the morning. I was a real grump. But now I wake up in a good mood and most times ready for the day. I think it's hormones.
ReplyDeleteHi sweet lady...
ReplyDeleteHehe!!! Kids...no matter how old they get...you gotta love em'!!! I remember reading this post...and was trying to think if it's been an entire year since I first met you? Wow...time certainly flies when you're having fun!
Well Darlin'...was wondering how the new job is going? I read your sweet note and Girl, you did "rub" it in...the fact that you were having beautiful weather...no jackets...and washing the car!!! Sooo mean!!! Hehe! How is it that Canada is already having such nice weather? I thought you guys would be still in the throes of winter up there! Guess there's hope for Colorado yet! Come on Spring!!!
Thank you so much for joining in with Sunday Favorites again this week, Lori! Loved your post!!!
Have a fabulous week, my friend!

Of all the nerve!
ReplyDeleteYou would think that infamous "mother's intuition" that we hear so much about, combined with the oft reported "eyes in the back of the head" would have worked together so that not only would you be previously away that said son was sleeping there, but you would subconsciously know what time he would be waking up, and what he wanted for breakfast.
I guess he had a bit of an awakening, didn't he...
LOL, great story!
