So after many years of being Suzy Homemaker I am heading back to work on Monday. FULL TIME. Oh how will I survive? I will get used to it. I am pretty flexible. It will be nice to be out of the house more often but it will be a huge change for the others that live here. My BB guy will step up to the plate for sure. Since we have had the cabin he has learned how much work it is shopping for and preparing meals for a group of people. He is the head cook at the cabin while there with his buddies and organizes all the meals.
So yes I will put on my pearls and pumps and head to the office on Monday morning. I will have to pack a lunch just like in school. You all know how I feel about Johnny Depp. I would totally rock with a lunchbox like this one. All the other staff would be so jealous. I will still have a bit of time before work to meet with my coffee group. I hope I don't forget that I have to leave. That would be bad.
I do have to work on my typing though. Although I type on here everyday I am using a laptop and almost no numbers. My job will include many, many numbers. Your hands are positioned on a different angle on a laptop than they are on a regular keyboard. I learned to type a long time ago but I am sure I can catch up. I still intend to post as often as I can. My goal is to keep responding to all comments from my great blog friends, as I do now (if I can find an email for you...link one up people). I hope to keep my visiting up too but as all of you know it takes a great deal of time to visit and comment on all the blogs you follow and I follow MANY. I have always tried to leave a "real" message on your sites, something well thought out if not downright silly. I will try my best but please know if you don't hear from me in a while that you are not forgotten. It is not you...it is me. I have really appreciated all the friends I have made on here and hope to keep you guys around for a long time.

ReplyDeleteLori-I know this has to be exciting and a little daunting at the same time. It will be good for the family--they will appreciate you more. Congratulations on finding a job in this economy--it says a lot! You will not be forgotten! I want to hear about what you will be doing! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck and Congrats~ Get lot's of sleep! Cindy
ReplyDeleteLori, good luck on the new job! I'm sure it's a bit disconcerting returning to the workforce, but just think of all the great blog fodder this will provide! Can't wait to hear all about your first day. And I MUST see a picture of the pearls and pumps lol. Kathy
ReplyDeleteWow -- congrats on finding a full-time job so fast! Timing and opportunity are everything. What will you be doing?
ReplyDeleteDon't burn out -- we'll all still be here!
I hope you find time to post a few times a week still... I hope to hear about your new job and weird co-workers(because there are ALWAYS weird coworkers!). Best wishes!!
ReplyDeleteYes, we all can't wait to hear about weirdo's of the week, ah I mean coworkers, right? LOL.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with your job, and things will settle down into a routine, everyone will start to pitch in, and guess what? The housework will just pile up. Things will be great.
We will be patiently here waiting for when you have time. And you definitely should have that lunchbox.
Jen
Well Congrats!!! I hope you don't have to take Transit every day. How frikken cool you can still meet with the group. You better do that lunch box - you would totally rock out that look.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your new job, If my experiences are anything to go by,you will soon fit every thing in.
ReplyDeleteA routine will develope ,almost without you noticing and the family will all chip in.
As someone commented above, there will be plenty to blog about.
A huge well done and big hugs winging there way over to you - Congratualtions.
ReplyDeleteYou will find it exhausting, and danting to begin with, but trust me it's so worth it for the new friends that you are going to make from the experience - give it a week and it will be old hat and you'll be running the joint LOL
Don't worry about the numeric work on the keyboard - once your fingers get to know where everything is you will get really fast - I did when I suddenly had to do it, and now I am faster if I don't look for the numbers than if I do!
Relax and have fun - BTW they will all want your lunch box if you take Johnny with you too LOL xx
Congratulations!! I knew you'd get it!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!! and I know the feeling of having to work full time and still manage everything! Best Wishes for your First week next week! I am sure you will have fabulous stories to tell!
ReplyDeleteI went back to work full-time in July and it was a big adjustment! I can't say I love the every day, all day thing, even though I really love my job.
ReplyDeleteYou'd be surprised how fast the typing will come to you :) Love reading your blog btw - you have a great community of followers xo
You'll be great!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I LOVE the lunchbox, you should totally get one! Remember to whistle while you work...or not, you might annoy people. Never mind.
ReplyDeleteIt will be a big change for sure. I stayed home as mom and wife for 17 years. First I returned to school as a substitute teacher - - - but for the past 11 years, full time. It WAS a big adjustment. Still is for that matter - - -
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Darlin :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear all about your new adventure!
Good luck with this different direction and I hope things run as smoothly as possible.
