What makes a better mosaic than pictures from your garden. Mary @ Little Red House has invited us over for her meme Mosaic Monday. I just happened to take a few pictures today while I was in the yard. Head over to Mary's site and link up to show us your mosaics. Now looking at Mary's mosaics I know I will have to put more thought into my next one. Hers are spectacular.CLICK ON THE MOSAIC TO MAKE IT BIGGER

- Weeping Caraganan with yellow blooms and some nasty thorns.
- Rose - unknown variety container size.
- Tulips - I am partial to black/purple flowers and leaves as you will come to see.
- Bird bath - surrounded by Forget Me Knots. How could I they are everywhere.
- Poppy - the weed variety. Also self sows everywhere. Smells like carrots when you pull them out.
- Lilac - was in my yard but moved over the fence many years ago so I could have a compost bin in that spot. We share the scent.
- Calla Lily - very elegant but not long lived in my yard.
- Iris - these purple irises smell just like grape juice or koolaid.
- Maxine - puller of tree roots from my garden beds. Also known as Miss February for the 2010 Tulameen calendar. Superstar.
- Azalea - pink, no real scent
- Azalea - orange, amazing scent but the plant is dying.
- Tiarella - tough little plant
- My new garden gloves and some seeds that may or may not come to fruition this year.
Very nice! Love the deep color of the tulips!
ReplyDeleteFavorite flower? The one with her tongue hanging out!
ReplyDeleteI have the same color azalea bush! And I am not sure if our poppies reseed, or just grow into a bigger clump each year, as they don't seem to migrate into other parts of the border. The poppies were a monstrously big clump this year, and now I'm deciding how long to leave the ugly seed heads there, or when to cut them. Any advice?
I am new to poppies. Well except for that opium thing....

Great shots, love the colors.
ReplyDeleteIf you are having problems commenting, is it where you have to retype in all your info? And your password, everytime? I am at my wits end with stupid Blogger. They even have the nerve to say that not enough people are saying they have a problem, and it's not big enough to deal with. Hmmmmppf.

What a great mosaic. And I really like your descriptions! I have a yard full of stuff I can't even identify and too many things I don't like.
ReplyDeleteI think yours is beautiful. I'll have to check out that meme. I'm trying to learn to do mosaics and at least I could study some other beautiful ones. Thanks for reposting!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteNice to read up on you again. Love the garden. If my memory is any good I think you live in Western Canada (the most beautiful part of it).
Gardening in Western Canada is a pleasure and from I can see you have a great talent for growing beautiful plants. Still addicted to blogging (I should be watering my plants, cleaning my house, going to an exercise class instead)LOL. Thanks for sharing.
Take care,
Anne-Marie
I have that very same birdbath!
ReplyDeleteI LIKED THE FLOWERS.....was trying to figure out what the orange blooms were before....I got to listing what each were....I thought it was a tree....its a big Azalea. Trish
ReplyDeleteEverything looks great Lori. Including the big puppy! Do you think your orange azalea might survive if you chop it down?
ReplyDeleteHi Girlfriend...
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see you for Sunday Favorites again this week, Darlin'! I loved your beautiful photo mosaic...your yard and flowers were gorgeous last year! You know, I have poppies as well but I have never pulled one up...how funny that they smell like carrots! I'm wondering if it's the orange coloring in the carrots and poppies that give them the same scent? Interesting!
Well my friend, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful flowers and photo mosaic with us for Sunday Favorites...what a treat!!!
Have a marvelous Monday, my friend!
