This beautiful bridge is going in not far from where I live.
It will take about 45 minutes to perhaps 1 1/2 hours off the drive to the other side via a different bridge depending on the traffic on any given day. You will have to pay a toll but it will be so worth it.This morning at coffee while talking with RR, the person who runs the toll end of things good ol' IZ grumbled that this is a 6 lane bridge that ends up down to 2 lanes at either end when you come off the bridge.
I quickly informed him that he was more than welcome to get off in the middle if this was going to be a problem.
Point taken.
that was funny...good job coming up with the punch line at the right time. I never can.
ReplyDelete2 Fabulous feedbacks....Love your blog and choose to follow you...Thanks for the info and fun humor
ReplyDeleteLori,
ReplyDeleteAs you have noted, the bridge is six lanes wide as it goes over the Fraser River. The connecting roadway through Surrey is four lanes wide because large amounts of traffic will get on and off close to the bridge in Langley. The same pattern holds on the north side, where traffic can enter and exit close to the bridge, or use a four-lane section of roadway that connects to the Lougheed Highway. The roadway that continues north of the Lougheed is two lanes wide, but can be easily converted to four lanes in the future.
