Every time we turn around there is another article about whether or not something is good for us.
Eat lots of this….no, no don’t eat that it causes your ears to fall off.
Drink wine, don’t drink wine, drink a little wine. Well I know what camp I am in for this one.
Now on to coffee and tea. Some studies say it is harmful where others tell us it is good for our brains and for our heart.
A U.S. study now says that people who drink coffee or tea regularly are less likely to carry the MRSA superbug than those who don’t drink either one regularly.
Coffee and tea are found to have antimicrobial properties which may protect against carrying the infection.
I for one am behind this study all the way. I knew my coffee was good for me and it certainly is good for others because without it I may just pinch someone’s head off in the morning.
I am starting on my second cup now….you are all safe for today.
Oops - hope I don't infect anyone! Never did learn to like coffee, and tea - one cup of decaf a day is enough for me!!
ReplyDeletePhew! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on this one.
I feel the same way about eggs. Good for you--no, they're not--yes, they are. Who knows what to believe?
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the coffee - I'll put on another pot!
ReplyDeleteI like what Mark Twain had to say about all these statistics;
ReplyDeleteThere's lies, damned lies and then there's statistics.
Eat, drink and be merry.
I'm with Ali, eat, drink and be merry! Life's just too short to give things up... especially coffee and tea:@)
ReplyDeleteI couldn't imagine what I would do without my coffee. It is the only reason I get up in the morning!!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
I adore coffee and tea! But I can't drink them -- one because the caffine keeps me up (super sensitive) and one because the tanic acid bothers my stomach. So, I can only indulge periodically.
ReplyDeleteHowever, NO ONE is gonna tell me that chocolate isn't good for me. I'd fisticuff anyone who tried to take my Junior Mints, Snickers or large Dairy Milk!
I couldn't survive a single day without caffeine. Have tried, the results were ugly.
ReplyDeleteAs long as they continue to believe that chocolate is good for you, I'll be fine...
ReplyDeleteDrink water, but not from a plastic bottle. Eat fish, but not big fish so much. It never stops. So I'm going to go have a cup of coffee with my chocolate bar and think about it all.
ReplyDeleteMy husband stocks "emergency coffee" for me. He knows what's in store if I don't have my coffee in the morning.
ReplyDeleteI, like yourself, drink coffee as a favour to those around me...I'm generous like that ya know!
ReplyDeleteYep, I'm on my second cup too, so everyone around me is okay. For now. ;)
ReplyDeleteCoffee is superb! Even if it wasnt Id drink it! :D Apaprently, drinking your cuppa will spare you from having Alzheimers and memory loss.. which I can totally beleive when you look at the chemical compounds of it! Plus... its a detoxifier and helps lose weight! FOR THE WIN!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Tried to give up coffee but I became dangerous to those around me so I suppose it is now a lifelong addiction.
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better, and please no worries on the Make It Count challenge as there is no obligation to participate. Just thought of you because of the humor post. Take care.
