It was not a good day. When I left to go to the coffee shop and then to work I was stopped by a traffic tie up due to an accident the night before that took all night to clear. I managed to get past most of it by taking back roads to get into the parking lot at work. I left my car there and walked past the traffic to the coffee shop. I spent about 25 minutes with my coffee buddies and walked back to work for my shift.
I had a message to call the owner of the coffee shop when I got home. Sadly there were two young people killed when another vehicle went out of control and landed on top of them.
The young girl killed works at the coffee shop. I am stunned. She was scheduled to work tonight. I just saw her Saturday afternoon.
I am also freaked out because a few years ago when we used to go to a different coffee shop one of the young women working there, the same age as this one, was killed in another freak accident that I wrote about here.
I am so sad and I can not tell you enough to hug your kids and your friends and your family members.
Very sad Lori...I am so sorry to hear such news. Thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends and to you.
ReplyDeleteOh Lori, that is so very sad. My heart goes out to their family and friends.

Oh, I'm so sorry Lori! Sad,sad news indeed! Always make me wonder why, with so many bad people in the world, it's the good ones that are taken from us!
ReplyDeleteHope it hasn't shaken you up too much!

I can only imagine what a shock this is to you. I am so sorry for everyone. You just never know, you are so right in making sure you hug and tell your loved ones you love them, as much as possible. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh Lori, how awful. Such a senseless loss of two young lives; I can't imagine their families' grief and pain.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right -- there is never any time as good as NOW to tell our loved ones how we feel, and hug them if they are within arms' reach.
I'm so sorry.

ReplyDeleteHow tragic. I just read another blog today, about a husband and wife who were killed by a car, whilst out for a walk. How very sad. One never knows, from moment to moment!

So sad to hear this. Things change so quickly, and we are never ready. A good argument to always leave others with a kind word or look.
