I am sure that most of you have heard about what happened in Vancouver after the hockey game last night.
That is not Vancouver. Those people should be shot and pissed on in my never to be humble opinion.
THIS IS VANCOUVER!!!
COME VISIT US SOMETIME

I saw the reports on the news. I don't understand this mentality. Your city is lovely.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, and if I ever get the opportunity I'll look ya up! Don't let the creeps get ya down, every city has them, Hubby and I used to hate to see our home town team win, cause the creeps did similar. SIGH
ReplyDeleteI saw the news and couldn't believe it. Hope justice is served to all those involved.
ReplyDeleteThat was really shocking to read about Lori. You expect crap like that here in England (I'm sorry to say). But not in Canada. And certainly not on the West coast. What's happened to the laid-back, Pacific attitude. I've still got some friends who live in Vancouver and they tell me it's not changed for the better over the last decade. Such a shame, considering how geographically beautiful it is.

Lori this is exactly the post I wanted to do today and I am so glad you did our beautiful city such justice. I hope all your international followers see the beauty. There is a great FB group posting pictures of the "thugs". They also posted a group of people this morning writing letters of apology to the Bay on the boarded up windows - *sad smiles*
ReplyDeleteVancouver is such a beautiful place, we visited before we left. When I saw the news of what those thugs did after the game I was humiliated as a fellow Canadian. I feel so bad for the players, you can only imagine how they are felling and to have the riot on top of it! I am proud of the Vancouver Canucks and how far then took our Country to the Stanley Cup play-offs and congrats to the Boston Bruins. Diane
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe this happened in Vancouver. Really? WTF!!!!
ReplyDeleteWho are these people and why are they in your lovely city? They certainly do not represent Vancouver or your hockey team. Thank you for posting the lovely photos. ~Delores
I just love your beautiful city! It's so disheartening to see just how pitiful people will act in order to garner some attention. We all know that isn't the real Vancouver...
ReplyDeleteThank you Lori for writing this, we've all been hanging our heads in shame, until we realize that it wasn't us that did this. We were not the responsible ones.
ReplyDeleteIt was some very unscrupulous idiots with nothing better to do then destroy and vandalize.
Who honestly knows where they come from, but they certainly don't deserve to live in or around Vancouver.
Vancouver will rise above, and the goodness will once again shine through.
Thanks for sourcing such great shots, and showing those who only know Vancouver from their local news that is it nothing like that.

Hi Lori...
ReplyDeleteWell, my friend...I must admit that I had to read some of the above comments to see what actually happened in Vancouver last night. Ohhh my gosh, I just don't understand how people can get so out of control over a game! It's not Vancouver, dear friend...you hear of reports like this happening all over...so sad really!
Anyway, I just loved all of the photos that you shared of your beautiful city of Vancouver! Each one was GORGEOUS! I have never been to Vancouver but would love to go sometime! Will you put me up if I get up that way? Hehe! How are you doing, dear friend? I hope that my note is finding your and your family all doing well! I was just tickled pink to find your sweet note over on my Tea Rose bedroom! Thanks so much for coming by and your note just made my day, Darlin'! Thank you!!! Take care...
Warmest summery wishes,
Chari
I love Vancouver...no matter what. Every city and town has it's bad seeds. Chicago takes quite a beating as being a tough and dangerous place, but that doesn't speak for the whole city.
ReplyDeleteI will still come to visit you. :-)
XO,
Jane
Oh, Lori, those people who did that just don't have any brains and people who do would never blame beautiful Vancouver for this. And, as Ali said about her home country England, and I can say about America, we've all got our own black eye's from the past and should never point fingers at another place for the same thing. I do fear for the safety of that one player from your team everyone was dumping on. Yikes! He needs a safe hole to crawl in. The sports talk radio guys here aren't really even talking about the rioting guys except to say that it was a few idiots. They have played the very loud booing while Boston was awarded the Stanley Cup. I remember one time when I was in college we did that at a basketball game and the next day all the students were called into the basketball arena and we were thoroughly dressed down by the university president for our poor sportsmanship. Thousands of people walked out of there very quietly.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, it's not a reflection on an entire town. Besides, a few dumb hockey fans can't undo the opinions the world formed during the Olympics - an unqualified triumph!! Vancouver is someplace I've always wanted to visit and I still do. I just never get there because I have a ton of relatives in Washington and I cannot ever sneak up there and go anywhere else. Maybe a direct flight...hmmm...
Chin up, big smile, take a breath and have a good evening!
Robin
Thanks for the beautiful images.....these are our town!
ReplyDeleteToo true... what a shame in our otherwise cheery Canadian attitudes. This is a small portion of peoples, not enough to bring us down! :)
ReplyDeleteCheers to ya!
We watched the CTV BC last night in shock and horror.can't believe there were people doing that..But then you have cleanup today going on and the human heart is amazing. #thisisvancouver
ReplyDeleteAlcohol + testosterone = stupidity.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the behaviors of the few is any reflection of your fair city. Thanks for the beautiful photos. With Phoenix being over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, Vancouver is looking mighty good right now. Have a great weekend.
I saw all the riots on the news and was looking fwd to hearing your take on it. Of course those asshats don't represent the whole of your beautiful city.
ReplyDeleteI lived in Vancouver as a child and my sister lives there now. Needless to say, I visit that beautiful city often. I have never seen anything approaching that bizarre scene. It must have been a group of drunk hooligans.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised to see that there. Here, yes, . A few always ruin it for the majority.
ReplyDeleteYour Vancouver is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I'll be there one of these days. You are my favorite commenter! Did you know that?
