I think I have come up with a great idea. It came to me while reading a comment from Delores @ Vignette Design on the "Great Gatsby" post I did.
I think we should have a group home for bloggers.
Yup. We should get funding for a mansion, preferably somewhere warm, like California, where bloggers can go to chillax.
You can't have tablescapes without coming up with menus to go with. Oh how we will eat. Morning, noon and night we will delight in the mouthwatering foods we have licked our computer screens over for years.

We would have it decorated in the most amazing, creative ways and it would change daily as new bloggers brought in new stuff. One day it would be rough wood and wire gates and the next it would be shiny mirrored bureaus and linen draperies tied with burlap ties. Tartans and tea lights. Oh and can you just see the tablescapes. Every meal would be enjoyed at a table that takes your breath away. The blue light photos would be breathtaking. Candles glowing and flickering in the crystal. Image by Miss Bliss 55 via Flickr

What will we need at this house? A craft room filled with everything a crafter could want, especially lots of that black spray paint. I don't think we could even get enough of it to keep all the bloggers happy. We will have a room filled with fabrics and trims. Image by Cayusa via Flickr
Can you imagine the storage room for the china, glasses and tablewares? It would fill a whole wing. It would need a rolling library ladder to zoom back and forth across the shelves filled with every pattern and shape of table we can imagine. Image via Wikipedia

The kitchens, of course more than one, would hum with the laughter and chatter that comes with cooking in a group and the aromas will fill our heads and minds not to mention our bellies. The only thing that will make them more delish is when we put them on the perfectly set tables. why yes, I would love another glass of wine. Thank you. Image by sea turtle via Flickr
There would be an art gallery to showcase the beautiful photographs and other creations that we all love so much. All the finished products of our talented artists and craftspeople. Image via Wikipedia
We will wander about the manicured grounds enjoying the splendid gardens lovingly tended and cared for. The garden bloggers will let us "pretend" gardeners help out and photograph the blooms and blossoms that will be there year round. Image by Juergen Kurlvink via Flickr
Don't worry. I know what is missing still. We will need computers almost everywhere. The wireless will be humming 24/7 I am sure as we all update and create for our blogs. Image via Wikipedia
Oh I know there is so much more we would want, I hesitate to say need, in our Bloggers Haven. Let me know what is missing. Doesn't matter what it is. This is our fantasy. We will also need a name. What would we call our special place? Our bloggers paradise? Image by champagne.chic via Flickr
Gotta go now and pick out my room. Yes I get first choice. This was my idea after all. I remembered the library, specializing in genealogy, after I went to bed last night. Of course a library with high speed scanners.

The photo studio will be humming 24 hours a day because those photographers get inspiration at all hours. Shellebelle can help set this room up once she is finished the cabana boy interviews.
And a spa room too. The 24 hour on call masseuses.

Here is a photo of the original mansion Delores was talking about that gave me the idea for this post. It is in Sacremento.
Lots of room for gardening here.
Cool!!!!! I pick a room beside you, dont care how it looks like, at least it will be fun! :D How bout... Blogelot? (I had Camelot in my head, form King Arthur) This is gonna be totally great! If we try hard enough, they'll set up the garden for us >:) Thanks for the fabulous idea!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
The Library - you forgot the library!
ReplyDeleteWe MUST make sure we rearrange the furniture every hour on the dot! ANd maybe throw in a psychologist for when we get writes block!!
ReplyDeleteThis is the funniest post I have ever read! It should be read by every blogger out there. You are something!
Wishing you a Happy Easter, Lori!
XO,
Jane
I think this could be Disneyland for bloggers, or rehab.... either way, when's the bus coming to get me?
ReplyDeletePat
Oooooh - I want a room here please! And I agree with Sheri-I want a library with a huge fireplace (California can get cool in the evenings) and a bazillion books and big library tables to spread out my research and over-sized chairs.
ReplyDeleteAnd since this is our fantasy - the butler will be bringing me drinks :-)
Well, we'd have to have a photographer's studio with proper lighting equipment and tons of backdrops to choose from.
ReplyDeleteAND you know I'm happy you chose California and I'm assuming it would be at the beach, so maybe we don't need a butler, but rather lots of cabana boys!!!!!
This is great, I don't think you saw the post I did on a gathering of bloggers, you know what they say about great minds………

hmmm...sounds like my house! I have my bags packed and ready to go!! Great post. Diane
ReplyDeleteLike I said, the Julia Morgan mansion is up for sale! I'll send you a photo to see if you approve. It is in California. If I supply the wine, does that mean I get second choice for the bedroom? You're too funny Lori! ~Delores
ReplyDeleteKASIA: You know I am all about the fun. If only laughter burned off more calories I would be model thin.
ReplyDeleteSHERI and DIANA: Went back and added a library with high speed scanners for us genealogy crazed bloggers.
BLONDIE:LOL Oh I can just see everyone zipping in and out yelling "where is my faux fur throw for the sofa?" "I need more candles and crystals"
PAT: I was going to go with the rehab side of it but it would be like putting an addict in the middle of a room full of the drug of choice. The bus is on its way to get you. Beep beep.
SHELLBELLE: You are in charge of hiring the cabana boys. I like mine men "manly" so get one who isn't completely shaved for me please. And the photo studio...see how that thought came second with me? Says a lot. I will go by and see you post.
DIANE: I will let you know when we are up and running.
DELORES: If you supply the wine I will give you first choice of bedrooms. Remember who you are talking to here. LOL. It was your mention of the mansion that gave me the idea for this post.
Sounds like a plan to me!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful funny post,I love the idea.So long as I do not have to make my own bed or do house work, you can count me in too. I will pay my own air fare to get there, can I bring my dog Charlie.??
ReplyDeleteHave a happy Easter,Carolyn.
Where do I sign up?
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter Lori!
I'm there...soooooo there!
