It is now 10:40 p.m. and I have been up since 5:30 this morning. As usual this morning I made a quick breakfast and turned on the computer (my nice new one) and checked on my blog and email.
Imagine my horror to see that my background was missing and there was just a long strip running down the center stating that the picture from the background was no longer available because they had exceeded their bandwidth on Photo-bucket.
With no time to take care of it I had to throw up a quick notice that I knew there was a problem and was going to work on it. I got home from work at 6:30 and started in right away. I have been testing templates all night long and none of them worked right.
An IT guy at work explained a lot to me this morning about how to avoid these problems but I am old and I don't remember these things. I will have to learn because apparently by using the blogger editor I am using up so much more space than I have to.
Why is it that every template I liked wouldn't work. They would look fine and then I would notice little problems. Sigh.
I have gone back to a basic Blogger template and will live with it. It is not my usual style but it is growing on me. It is easy to read and I guess that is most important.

It looks great whatever you do Lori - the important thing is that we get to read your great posts so don't fret about how it all looks - the right template will appear as if by magic and work perfectly for you I'm sure - (I'm having an optimistic day! - It is the weekend LOL)
Oh don't I know what you have been through, I have been almost 2 weeks getting mine where it is and I am still not satisfied, during that time I bought a new computer so it double trouble.....you have done very well my friend.

Same thing happened to me. I had been wanting to change things up, and I woke up one day and no longer had a background. I'm finally happy with the results, but it did shake me up a bit! I think yours looks great (I like simple), and it's the content that matters. And your content is always outstanding :)
All this computer stuff is great, when it works! Frustrating as hell when it doesn't!!! Have a great weekend:@)
Sorry to hear about your problems - I think we all need live-in IT support. It's like the "olden days" when people had live-in help, except with a different focus.
As others have said - you have such great content, the rest is just window dressing. :-)

I can't even imagine the feeling of seeing one's blog disheveled in that manner!
Makes me more determined than EVA to stick with my trusty old template! ;-)
Oh, and btw - - - I really do like this template. It is simple and elegant and it loads quickly.
Sometimes all the busy-ness of some of the templates drives me to distraction.
Well, I like simple, and this is wonderful, easy to read, and so much nicer without that strip going down the center, laughing.
OK, you didn't explain what bandwidth mean to me....I'm still perplexed.

I like your new look. The new Blogger Designer beats the crap out of the old templates they had and still do.
I hope you get your template issue sorted out. I hate being in transition myself, so I know how you feel. On the plus side, your blog looks great!
