Obviously to those who read my blog regularly I have not been around.
Between the 10 hour shifts and everyday things that need to be done we are buying a house and getting ours ready to sell.
What a production. We have made an offer on a house and pending subject removals we have a deal. I will share more about that when it actually happens.
We are also clearing out 31 years of living from our current home. OH….MY…. GOSH…
We have been bad. We have not kept things up the way we should have. I said to my BB Guy… why do we fix things up now and clear things out when we didn’t bother to do this while we lived here? We should have been more diligent in our home.
Take care of the home you are in. Fix the little things as they come up. Doing a couple chores now is easier than having a list of 20 things to down the road when time is an issue.
Get rid of the the junk, clutter and stuff you don’t need. It is exhilarating. It is an eye opener.
Anyways… stay tuned for some upcoming news as to whether we complete the deal or not. Next step is the home inspection of the new house on Saturday. We hope there are no surprises.
Almost there Lori, looking forward to good news, and a easy inspection!
ReplyDeleteWhen we lived in the little condo, we decided to fix it up before selling, the kitchen, and the bathroom were soooo cute. And then we sold, but I did get some time to enjoy them before we moved, lol.
Great advice for homeowners, and very pertinent.

Hi Lori,
ReplyDeleteWow, I could have written this post myself! We made an offer on a house too. Inspections are this morning and if they clear, we will move to San Francisco's Marina for a very big lifestyle change. Our home will need to go on the market and I'm already clearing out all the clutter. It's very overwhelming. Tomorrow, we tackle the garage! Good luck with your new home!

Good Luck! It IS a big job, but worth it in the end...
ReplyDeleteFingers are crossed!
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to you! I so agree, I've been... selectively... purging for a while now:@)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you were moving, Lori. Are you staying in Vancouver? I can imagine what a job it is to move after 31 years in one place...you are not alone. We have been talking forever about getting a dumpster (you can rent them), and cleaning out our basement which consists of nothing but old s***. God help us, it will take months!
ReplyDeleteI wish you all the best. I have been so bad at visiting everyone...so much on my plate.
XO,
Jan
It's all too easy to just "go with the flow" and put things off with home repairs and upkeep. I have many projects planned for this summer-including some that have been long overdue! Best of luck with the new home purchase, Lucy!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Ethel
Lori, I hope everything goes swimmingly for you and you're soon in your new home. Guess what? We're moving, too! Two week ago, cash buyer to our house and offered our "Make Me Move" Zillow price. W're out of here by end of June and have already found a new place in Albuquerque. Strange how things happen when you least expect them.
