There was a tree at our cabin. There was a tree at our cabin that was quite close to it. There was a tree at our cabin that was about 124 feet tall. There was a tree at our cabin that was upright.
WAS!!!!!
There was also a bit of rot and a bit of a wind a week or so ago. The tree is no longer upright.
It fell down without hitting the cabin, shed, boat, or much of anything except a fence at the end of the property. We were very lucky. The rhubarb had to go when they pulled out the stump but it wasn’t very good anyway.
We got some good firewood out of it though.
And when you live with Fred Flintstone you need lots of firewood. Quite the benches my BB Guy made eh? That fire pit is about 5 feet across.
WOW, you really were lucky! That is a true close call!
ReplyDeleteWow, talk about luck! lol and you guys have quite the pretty place! :)
ReplyDeletehugs,
That was a close call, thank heavens it did not fall on the house.
ReplyDeleteWe had a similar tree right next to our cottage,it also had rot and the roots had lifted,it would have brought the house down so we had it cut down before it caused any damage.
PS,
We always plant two new trees for every old tree we have to fell or ones that are brought down by the storms, but in a safer place, away from the house.
Go heavens girl, you were more than just lucky! It's amazing the wonders that Mother Nature will do. Lots of firewood, that's a plus and I think those benches that BB Guy did are awesome! Diane
ReplyDeleteHurrah for free firewood! I'm glad the tree came down without taking half your property with it.
ReplyDeleteAli
I love the benches Fred made. I double-dare Mother Nature to destroy those suckers anytime soon!
ReplyDeleteWow!! Thank you Jesus!
ReplyDeletePS you might get a notification that I unsubscribed; I did from that email, because I hate gmail. Re subscribing with hotmail. :)
You sure WERE lucky! Nothing like free wood, though :)
ReplyDeleteI sure hope you bought a lottery ticket because it is YOUR lucky week lady. . .. .
ReplyDeleteFunny thing is I bought 2 scratch tickets that very day. I still haven't scratched them though. I stuffed them in my purse and forgot about them because I rarely buy them. I'm not much of a gambler.
