Owwwwie I have a sliver. How can something so tiny hurt so much.
Just a tiny little speck of black under the skin on the palm of my hand.
I will get out the needle and the alcohol…to clean the needle I will use to lift the skin. I hope I won’t need any alcohol to prep myself for the major surgery to ease that little piece of wood fibre out of my hand.
I can remember as a child the hollering and whining when my mom would get out the sewing needle and tweezers to remove a sliver. No, no, no, no… I would cry. I was just a little on the dramatic side back then.
Now I will be a big girl and remove the splinter myself and I won’t even cry. Just don’t get me started on paper cuts.
Ouch! If it is not completely undet the skin, a piece of tape can sometimes pull it out. Let us know. :)

I love the new look of your blog Lori. As for the splinters, I hear ya!
ReplyDeletePobrecita!!! Que Lastima!
ReplyDeleteCertainly hope that you give yourself a popsicle for being so brave when you are done....what is it about getting older that makes some things hurt more, and others less?

Lori....I love the look of your new blog, it's clean and streamlined, but I am having such difficulty getting that cute heart out of the way to comment. I keep trying to sneak into the publish button, but the darn thing opens again and again...
Is there something I am doing wrong? Can that heart move down, or up slightly? The last comment was hard, and this one is harder, lol.
What IS it about splinters? The very idea of getting one makes me shudder! I'm going to try the tape idea Blondie suggested above next time! Thanks for visiting my blog this week!
ReplyDeleteI've heard of using Elmer's glue. Just put a little on and let it dry, then peel off and the splinter is supposed to come out with it. Good luck!
