My brother has been involved in hockey his whole life. He was a goaltender and has played for a couple of US universities as well as one here in Canada. He played on the Brandon Wheat Kings team and also for the Vancouver Junior Canucks team.
After leaving university he began running his own very successful hockey schools around the world even running them in Japan, Minnesota, & Florida.
He had a couple ground breaking creations he made for his hockey schools, using his background in mechanical engineering.
Here is a newspaper article about his reflex tunnel to measure the abilities and weak points of his goaltending students. They could improve their reaction times without fear of being hit by a real puck. Brilliant. Remember this was before computers were available to regular people.

How about you? Do you have any inventors in your family?
Impressive!
ReplyDeleteMy brother invented Beer Pong and my sister invented the beer bBong.
heh heh kidding.
No inventors, well recognized ones at least. I have a BIL that can build anything, without plans. He has build a oil drill, and a tugboat, just built them from a idea in his head.
ReplyDeleteYours, and mine should meet up one day, who knows...

ReplyDeleteYour brother is someone to be proud of, too be sure.
ReplyDeleteI have a sister that is a writer, she has sent manuscripts to Harlequin Romance. Nothing yet for her, but they say that Stephen King has something like 700 rejections, her time might come yet. Maybe I should write a book, the gene might run in the family! Diane
Okay, lots of people have invented things in my family. The only thing is that none of them are things you can patent because they were usually created during a drunken stupor for practical reasons of some kind. ;)
