I have noticed a trend. I
hear it in person, I see it on blogs and I see it especially on social media.
It is the negative posting
and the negative attitudes that are spilling out everywhere.
Everyone has a bad day now
and then and venting about it is a good thing but I am reading more and more
daily …. for lack of a better word…. whining from people.
It has become a constant in
their lives. Every time you talk to them it is all drama and all negative. Every
time they post something it is negative. There is rarely a good thing, a funny
thing or a kind thing.
Don't get me wrong. I do see many who strive to be positive, upbeat and encouraging on a daily basis. I love their posts. They make me smile and make me feel good.
So here is my challenge. Go
and write something upbeat and happy on your blog, your Facebook, your Twitter
and any other media accounts you have. Take this badge and share it.

Atta girl, Lori ~ random acts of happy. I like it.
ReplyDeleteWay to go Lori - we need more happy thoughts! Maybe we need a 'button' to share with everybody! Right now I'm in the middle of some 'happy quilting' posts (at least I think they're happy) so will just keep on keeping on!
ReplyDeleteIt might just be the extended winter...but I think that people will be happy as soon as spring hits.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Lori...

I agree that "whining" has become all too popular - not just on blogs, but everywhere it seems. I like what Lynn said - let's have more "random acts of happy". My post this week is to recognize the beauty of 72 year old Buffy Sainte-Marie and her positive life!
ReplyDeleteI really liked this! Clapping!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am adding the badge to my site! Thank you
I love "happy" and "positive" ....
ReplyDeleteHugs to you, my friend,

Linda :o)
Wow - couldn't have said it better - and wish I had said it. I am appalled and embarrassed often, by the mean and hateful things people post on their blogs and facebook - every little flaw in their mate or their children or their family. Do they think that makes them look good because the others are so bad? Do they just like drama?
ReplyDeleteI've always believed that to make others look bad we only make ourselves look worse. It reflects on our ability to cope and on our very personalities. I do realize that some people have problems that are real and important to them - but the everyday drama of saying mean things about others is annoying at best - and I am embarrassed fro the write - it only shows their shallowness and lack of consideration for others.
And while we are at it - do we really care if your doggie pooed in the yard six times today - or junior tossed his toys in the toilet, or your cabbage was rotten or the egg broke when you dropped it on the floor, or that you drank tea, or that your husband was late getting back home. These tiny bits of information are annoying - to say the least.
I wonder what these people do that we haven't heard about - because it sure seems that they are on facebook every three minutes telling us that they ironed a shirt, or scratched an itch - or worse.
Well, I'm off to find something happy to read about, now that I've complained. LOL
Great story - clever mother!!!
