NOTHING WRONG WITH MY MEMORY

So I see a man today and I recognize him from somewhere....I can't figure out where from and then I see his name and my memory twigs....Mr. Ellis, teacher at David Thompson up until 1995.
How did my mind remember him when I wouldn't have seen him since the early 1970s.

I can't remember what I did last week. I can’t remember what someone said to me yesterday. I can’t remember my work schedule. But I remember this face which I haven’t seen in almost 40 years.

It wasn’t like we were close or anything. There was no bond or memorable moments. I just remembered his face enough to connect it to his profession.

I felt bad for him though because here he was looking at a woman with gray hairs mixed in with her browns who is of a grandmotherly age and being told “hey I remember when you were my teacher in high school”.

I'm the same as you though - I can remember things from 15 years ago much better than I can what I did last year. Funny how some things stick with you more than others do.; September 12, 2012 at 7:08 AM

Hey that's me. I am still running into people that "knew" me years ago, and I have no idea who they are.
