It is a beautiful day in the neighbourhood. The sun is shining and it was a perfect morning to go out into the garden.
I have not been active in the garden for some time and it really shows. Too busy, too tired, too frustrated with the enormity of the whole job.
No good excuses.
I am taking it one small area at a time.
I went out this morning with the goal of cleaning out one small garden bed next to my front porch. 
These shots are from previous years. There is hope and promise in gardening.
We have a ways to go before summer. I hope I have the rest of the garden beds cleaned up by then. Sigh.
Love to work in the garden...it takes time for the fruits of your efforts to show, but your progress is beautiful.

Wow! Our ground is frozen solid! Did you have a warm up? You made great progress today. I love seeing what it looked like when it was all in bloom, very pretty. Love those birdhouses, too!

Good for you. We're still under several feet of snow, so while I'm planting in the greenhouse (I transplanted Gaura's today, but they are annuals here),there is absolutely no indoor/outdoor conflict here. Just a bit of knitting/housework conflict.

ReplyDeleteIt always looks naked when I clean the beds out...that's why I try not to very much. LOL But it's so worth it! This year I decided not to prune the clematis...we shall see if it grows right or not. It looks fuller but the dead stuff is always underneath. I want it to be not so lopsided this year because last year I totally made it lopsided when I pruned.

I would love to be out poking around in the garden but we are still in the deep freeze here in Ontario. I love the transformation in your garden from little shoots to full garden. It really fills in nicely. Valerie

You did a great job clearing the space - bet you can't wait to see some colour. Our ground is still pretty frozen, and there will be no sign of life for another 6-8 weeks, which is the worst time of the year for me - by then I am craving some time outside gardening! Enjoy.
