I struggle to find the time to visit all the blogs I love. You are such great, fun, creative people and I always learn so much.
This morning I squeezed in a quick look at the first 2 blogs that came up on my reader.
Great post # 1 with some recipes. Tried to comment and it is a Word Press blog that required I have a Word Press account to comment. Okay I’ll try that. I tried 4 times to get an account set up but apparently I already have one???? Tried to get back to my comment so I could post it with what I guessed my log in info would be and my comment was now gone. Sorry, see ya later.
Great post #2 with some decorating. Tried to comment and there was a Captcha word verification at the bottom. 7 tries to copy the different letters and numbers and got every one wrong. I have good eyesight but I can’t read those things. Buh bye……
I sure hope people have an easier time commenting on my blog and if you don’t please let me know.
I found this to be so frustrating and I will probably remove those blogs from my list.
Lori, I hear you and feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone else find some of the comment fonts so tiny on WP blogs?
I am having a terrible time figuring out what I typed into their comment boxes, it's bigger once I post, but until then it's all guess work.
I have a button that says I am Word Verification free on my blog, and like you I just can't figure out the captchas. HATE THEM!!LOL
And now they include numbers? Whew.
So for now if someone with word verification leaves me a comment on my blog, I email them back my comment with a short explanation that I just can't figure out the WV.
I sincerely wish they would drop WV.
We bloggers are busy people, and in order to read the post and leave a intelligent comment it takes time. Subtle hint to the Work Verification bloggers who refuse to drop that system.

Its usually easy to comment, I sometimes have blogs that are just evil... have you tried blogs in diff. languages and translating them? Commenting on those is hell. :P But I try.. those numbers? hate them! Especially that stupid picture of numbers... ugh. But yours is ok, never had problems. :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
I agree - it's frustrating to try to leave a comment and get that captcha thing. I cringe every time I see that. There must be a better way. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who has been too busy to catch up, it's nice to find your blog and be able to easily leave a comment. Thanks for the smile -- and I totally agree with your sentiment.
ReplyDeletecatpcha is ridiculous!
ReplyDeleteIt is annoying, isn't it? Normally on blogs like that, if I REALLY like the blog or the writing, I will still read the posts but rarely comment.
ReplyDeleteI read every blog in my google reader which requires me to click out of it to comment on blogs, so often I'm guilty of reading everyone's blogs, but never commenting! So funny how that one extra step just seems too burdensome! ;o)
I had to try five times on a blog the other day and it really was frustrating. There are many such snags in the comment world, but for some reason, I keep on trying. Thanks for stopping by at Quirky Vistas and taking the time to comment there!
ReplyDeleteLiz
Had to sign into my google account.
ReplyDeleteBill the reason it is no longer as easy is that I have had to stop anonymous comments on my blog due to the massive amounts of spam that was coming in every day.
ReplyDeleteI never had a problem before but the last 4 or 5 months it has become non-stop and I had to require a log in of some sort to comment.
Since then only one spam has come through and my spam filter caught it.
I am really sorry for the complications in commenting but at least I will not make you decipher some squiggly code that you need to type in with one eye closed while standing on your telephone book with a fan blowing or some other such comment hell.
OMG I had a terrible time trying to mess with a WP blog today. It kept saying I wasn't authorized because it didn't recognize my e-mail addy. Funny, but I was already signed into my account on another window.... what? I've had it with word verification blogs, too- even if I've been following for a while. Saying "bye bye" will just be easier..... I feel your pain, girlfriend!
