I have read about a wealthy person in Britain who is giving away “good deed” money to strangers.
He gives an envelope with £ 1000 cash to someone with the hope that they will do something of value with it. This is over $1500.00 Canadian.
He has given away around £ 100,000 already to various people. One has used the money to get his neighbours hot water turned back on, anther pledged to give the money to a hospice. So here is my question to you. What would you do if a complete stranger handed you an envelope with $1500.00 in it and just says to spend it how you see fit.Choose one of the following or tell us about your own choice in the comments.
What an interesting topic... thanks for getting us thinking! :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
I know a 10 year old boy who has brain cancer and had a stroke before Christmas. He is fighting for his life - literally - and making amazing progress. I'd give it to him to sponsor a trip to Chicago to Legoland in Schaumburg, Illinois. Lego's are his favorite toy and he wants to go to Legoland so bad.
ReplyDeleteIt'd be hard to not just waste it sometimes.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I'm totally stumped. Considering this gentleman is giving it away, I'd be inclined to think I should have to do the same thing. It would be like daring Karma to not come back and bite you in the ass big time if you didn't do something good with the cash.

I'd give it all to an animal rescue place, because I like animals more than I like most people. Don't you feel lucky to be on my short list of people that I like?
ReplyDeleteI'm catching up on my reading and came across this post. I have a "new" friend who seems to not be able to catch a break. He currently only has a part-time job and everything that can go wrong is going wrong. Last night his computer crashed with 5000 people in his family tree. Computer geeks don't think they will be able to recover his data. His computer is very old and yet he does so much with the community. His car broke down. I think I'd give it to him.
