Linda over at Stitch Lines inspired me today with one of her photos to post some of my poppy pictures from the past.
I love poppies and have been on a quest to find a true blue hued red one for years with no luck.
Every time someone says they have one it turns out to be the orangey red variety.
In the mean time here are poppies all from my garden.
This one below is my favourite. I shared some with one of my sisters one year and the morning it bloomed she called me so excited about them. She couldn’t get over how beautiful they were. Did I mention it was 5:00 am on Saturday morning when she called. Just a little excited lol.
Today is the first day of summer and it is sunny here in Beautiful British Columbia. June has not been very pleasant here and we hope this is the day it all turns around.
I am quite jealous! I have tried to grow poppies but have had no luck. Yours are beautiful. I especially love the pink ones!
ReplyDeleteAh yes the bluish red, the true red of those gorgeous poppies. Remind me to try and look up that poppy seed seller on FB. It doesn't show up all the time, but she has almost everything.

Gorgeous! Some are named after me!!
ReplyDeleteYour poppies are beautiful! I think your favorite is mine too-enjoy and happy summer:@)
ReplyDeleteYummy! I love poppies too. The buds are just as interesting as the flowers. I have the orange-red one and they are already long gone for this year. Wish they lasted longer.
ReplyDeletePoppies are beautiful. I did a tablescape with them. I wish I had more in my yard.
ReplyDeleteYour poppies are gorgeous!! I too would like a blue-red rather than the orange-red. If you ever find a source, please let me know!!
